Overall Review: A GREAT little laptop for the money. I got mine from Newegg just after Christmas for the $399 price. I *was* considering a netbook - but decided for the cost of anything nice and the limitations, I decided to go with another laptop. This Acer replaces my aging Dell Latitude 510 which still works, but the hinges are shot and the Win2K was getting old. Some people griped about the "off-center" touchpad - but this isn't really a problem as you will get use to it without even trying. I played a DVD the other night and was prepared for "terrible sound" from the one, small speaker - but I was actually quite pleasantly surprised that it sounds better and louder than a friend's 2-speaker Dell Inspiron. Though I'm a lifelong MS Dos/Windows user, I CAN'T STAND Microsoft's forced updates. Soon after initialization, the OS wanted to install THIRTY-FIVE fixes and I visualized this nice, fast machine getting slower. Just shut OFF automatic updates
