Does this cooler come with a thermal compound or do i buy that seperately?

Mine came already coated with a thin layer of thermal compound. I did read that the stock compound may not be very effective so I replaced it with some Arctic Silver paste.

Question 2

While water cooling solutions are great for my clients I'm always a bit skeptical about using something like this in my own system.

Has anyone had any leakage problems with this unit and can someone please tell me why they thought they needed to take the extra effort to make sure the FANS are waterproof?

Are they expecting this thing to spew and some point and wanted to make sure the fans were safe...? Surely were not mounting the radiator and fans to the inside of a water filled bucket are we...

Thank you guys for answering my question as i was extremely curious about this unit. This question while i like to throw a little humor in the mix actually seemed a bit alarming as ive not tried this brand.

I like the h100 in terms of how its designed, BUT the stock fans are extremely loud and immediatly needed to be replaced prior to delivery with my last client.. after replacement of the fans his i7 at 4.8ghz would hit 70 celcius which seemed high. Though this was purely under stress test scenarios.

Due to your positive responses as well as information on temps im going to give this one a shot for home use. My current air cooler is pretty small on a phenom 1090t with temps at 56c while gaming at 3.8ghz isolated in a walk in closet...any higher and it exceeds 70 almost instantly. TDP is 64c if i remember correctly.

Question 3

Could you expand this so that it connect to a graphics card too? For example, have one tube go in, but the other run to the graphics, then another come out of the graphics card and reattach to pump? Hope that makes sense. Thank you!

This was pre-assembled and it doesn't appear that it would be easy to disassemble and put back together.  For your application, I would buy individual pieces and cut the tubing to the exact length.

This installed easily and worked just fine.  The design limits the orientation of the heat sink to two positions as opposed four positions for some other coolers.  We had to move things around to get the plumbing to lay in right but once in, it worked great.

Question 4

I will be installing this in the top of my case. will the hoses reach my cpu?

this is hard to say without knowing what case / MoBo you have, but it is fair to assume that if it is a standard full tower with ATX motherboard you should be fine.  The hoses do bend and are able to twist a bit to fit to the cpu slot. You can easily put a 90 degree rotation on it, though i wouldn't recommend going further that that.  It is designed to be mounted on the top of the case and be able to reach the cpu.

Hi, does this come with a second set of screws that lets someone mount fans on both sides of the radiator?

No, just the one set of screws come with it. Currently I am only using one of the two fans for just regular browsing and when its game time I have the second fan kick on to keep it all cool. Lovin' it! Hope this helps. Cheers!

1) Is this a closed system or is a reservoir involved.
2)what/where do you mount this? back, front,top?inside or outside?
Had a hydro 50 which was a pain to install looks pretty much the same but I'm wondering if there would be enough room this look twice the length of the hydro50..

1. Yes. This is a closed system. The hoses you see in the picture are about 8-9 inches long. The hose length limited my mounting options in a Scout ATX.
2a. This is set up for a pair of side by side 120mm fans. So anywhere you have the space and hose length to reach. I had issues clearing my motherboard. The radiator is about the same thickness as the fans. The hose ports are on the rear face and stick straight out of the radiator body.
2b. The way this is intended to be installed is to fasten the radiator portion to the case with screws. The screws are meant to go into the face of the radiator contacting the case wall. The fans then screw onto the opposite side of the radiator (the face Inside the case).
2c. I ended up mounting the radiator externally underneath the Scout's handle and cutting a small notch for the factor fill connection. I bought a few long screws and nuts at the hardware store to clamp the whole thing together.
3. Performance has been excellent on this. Was a good introductory experience with a water cooler.

Question 7

is this compatbable with any motherboard/graphics card/etc?

I don't think so, I had to measure to make sure it fit, but it has hardware to hook it to an Intel and AMD motherboard...it was easy to install, but I had to keep the hookups loose until I had it completely on, then I could tighten it. I have had it for about two months and it has worked flawlessly.

Can the hoses be detached so I can mount the radiator out side the case?

Question 9

I have the CoolerMaster HAF 912 case and I was wondering if this will fit?  The top does allows for 2x 120mm fans or 1x 200mm fan.

Based on internal pictures of the HAF 912, I have a hunch if you use only one set of fans on the radiator... it should work.  I had a Zalman Z11 Plus and while i loved the case, It was a tight squeeze and even then the Ram slots from my mobo got in the way.  So I got a bigger case, now I have the Corsair 760T.  So much more room on the top and can do a double fan array in Push/Pull config.  Unless you can look up exactly how much space there is on the top there is just trial and error.  While the 200mm fan is a great idea in theory, there's gonna be a lot of unused suction on the narrow sides of the radiator and areas not adequately cooled on the long sides of the radiator, this might cause problems in the future.   I hope I was able to help.   Cases are only guaranteed for single fan mounted space, going closed loop is never guaranteed to fit because manufacturers simply don't have to incorporate it til the majority of builders adopt it over air cooled solutions

Question 10

My enthoo pro case came with a PWM Fan Hub can i use my Cases Fan Hub instead of the one the cooler comes with?

When I ran the fans on the Enthoo Pro Hub, it worked for a while but then my AI Suite from Asus started detecting the CPU fan was not online.  I looked in the bios and it was going on and off so stopped using the hub all together.  You may have better experience.  I would say this is possible, but i did not have good luck with it.
