Is this heat sink compatible with the AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6 core processor?

I have it installed on a AMD x4 860k processor. I believe the form factor is FM2+. If I remember correctly the cooler fits FM1, FM2, FM2+ . It depends on the form factor of your processor/mobo.

The listing for the cooler says it fits:

Newegg has your processor listed as a AM3+.

Question 2

People and videos are saying you need a great amount of force to get this cooler on. Will I risk cracking my MOBO if I buy this cooler?

It does kind take a lot of force, but if you have some finesse it can be done. Yes you could just force it on and potentially crack it, but if it is done properly it shouldn't be a problem. Now I will say to add some counter pressure to it to help support your m.b. I like the cooler though and think it is a good buy.

Stock FX-6300 sounds like a jet when playing games, how quiet is this fan?

I recommend this product to anyone with a phenom or fx series processor or intel i5 or higher models. Your fx-6300 will be near silent with this big fan since it never spins any faster than 1300rpm on my overclocked fx-8320. (FYI I set the fan to run at 60% on my motherboard) Even at 1800rpm=100%, it sould still be much quieter than stock fan-heatsink.

No you have to buy some. I also suggest getting remover with it such as the Arctic Silver Arcticlean Thermal material Remover & Surface Purifier ACN-60ML (2-PC-SET)

My case can only fit a 155mm tall fan.  Will this fan fit in my case?  The case in question is XION Gaming Series XON-350_BK

Depends on how high the motherboard risers sit.  You only have 11 mm for the height of the board and processor.  Not much wiggle room.  155-144=11.  It's the height of the fan not the heat sink.  On the plus side you can move the fan to the other side if that will get you there.

Is this heatsink type of fan as good as a fan blowing top down directly on the cpu?

I think the heat pipes are plenty capable of transferring the heat from the CPU up the moving air. And, assuming you have air coming in the front and out the back of the case, upright fans aid that overall airflow. I bought this fan because it's really quiet; it just happens to also work really well. If you're worried, do make sure to use good thermal compound, as that will have a huge impact on the heatsink's effectiveness.

Would this fan work for an AMD Ryzen 5 1600X ?

This fan includes a universal Socket system to fit AMD's FM2/FM1/AM4/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2/K8 sockets.  The socket types are your motherboard's issue not the processor.  Biggest issue is the height.  Listed at 144mm but there's motherboard and processor height to consider too.  Runs quiet too.

Can this it a 2011 Narrow ILM socket?

No.  The surface area of the heat sink will not match to a Xeon processor.  Xeon processors are rectangular not square.  Completely different.

Yes it will work on a i5 and yes it will work on the Z79, the 2011 the other person's talking about is a different CPU/board combo altogether.
