You need to apply the thermal paste.  As far as I know, no manufacturer pre-applies any kind of heat transfer medium to their contact plates.  Don't use too much!  About the size of a large pea in the center of the cpu cover plate should do.  Then attach the cooling unit.  Check out examples on youtube.

Will this cooler fit on an ASRock Fatal1ty FM2A88X+ Killer motherboard in a Rosewill Blackhawk-Blue case? The last cooler I tried did not fit because of some capacitors running along side of the CPU mount got in the way.

Hi Kirisa,
I have only used this cooler on ASUS motherboards - with no problems.  I am not familiar with your ASRock MB.  However, I CAN tell you that the base for this cooler is the same size as the Intel chip cover and the copper tubing sticks out about 1/2 inch from the base and then bends upward into the aluminum cooling blades.  The total distance outward from the base for the tubing when it finally enters the cooling blades is 3/4 of an inch.  If you study the picture of the unit, you will see what I mean about the bending of the copper tubing.  The bottom of the fans and the bottom of the aluminum cooling blades is 1 & 1/8th inch from the base that sits on top of the CPU.  So, as long as your capacitors are at least 3/4 of an inch away from the CPU perimeter AND do not occupy air space more than 1" above the top of the CPU you should have enough clearance.  That said, anything that sticks up more than 1 & 1/8 inch above the top of the CPU, or is closer than 3/4" from the CPU perimeter is going to be a problem.  Hope this helps.

my mobo comes with oine  4 pin CPU_fan connector, and it also comes with two 3 pin CHAS_fan connectors.
the left most pin appears to be 5+v.
but is absent on the 3 pin connector of one of the Ice Blade's second fan.

Could I connect the 3 pin fan connector into the 4 pin CHAS_fan on the mobo?
the 5+V will be left unconnected and exposed or unused..
will this affect operations?

Yes you can connect the fan as you suggest and it will not impact operations.  I installed this cooling unit on my ASUS MB and since the Ice Blade comes with 2 fans and 2 connectors, I picked up a Y connector fan cable that allowed me to connect both Ice Blade fan cables to the 2 Y ends and the single stem end to the CPU fan connector.  I used the 2 chas_fan connectors on the MB to run the 2 chassis fans that my case came with.  The only down side to my particular setup was that even though the Ice Blade fan cables are 4 pin, using the splitter forced me to run it as a 3 pin - which means the Ice Blade fans run at a constant speed instead of variable.  This is really not a big deal.  The amount of energy required to run the Ice Blade fan is so minimal it doesn't matter AND it cools the cpu so well that temperature is not an issue at all.  The Ice Blade is phenomenal (I love it).  Grab a Y connector and hook it up to the cpu fan connection on the MB and save the chassis fan for your case's chassis fan.

The 200 M comes with one 4-pin fan already attached and a 3-pin fan you have to attach.  Each fan has two direction arrows on the side.  For the already mounted fan the arrows point in toward the cooler blades and the other point down toward the base.  Should the second fan be mounted so that the arrows also point into the unit and toward the base?  Since the second fan only has one 3-pin connector, and the MOBO only has one CPU fan connector, what type of wire connector adapter should I use to run both fans off the same MOBO connection point?

I bought a CPU fan splitter and connected it to the MOBO, then connected the two fans into this.  I also pointed both arrows into the same direction this way it caused a push / pull airflow off of the heatsink (I always thought both sides blowing into the heatsink would be like trying to place 2 magnets of the same polarity together and be less effective).

"Silverstone CPF01 3.94" PWM Fan Splitter Cable"  This was the splitter I bought, and it worked just fine, one will be controlled by the system, but the other will run constantly.  I set the fan that was pulling as one that runs constantly, but this was because it was near the rear exhaust so it was able to blow the heat straight out of the computer.

Will this fit on a AMD RYZEN 5 1600X 6-Core 3.6 GHz (4.0 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 95W YD160XBCAEWOF Desktop Processor with a MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON AM4  Motherboard ?

Yes, it will fit the MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON AM4 Motherboard with a Ryzen processor.  The AM4 socket with screw mountings would take an AM4-only fan, but that motherboard and this fan use the spring-clip mounts which are the same for AM3 and AM4 sockets.  Therefore, the fan will fit.  This is not a very beefy fan for the Ryzen, but would technically fit the bill.

How does it mount & how quite is it? Does it have a 4 pin power connection.

I saw the clips are Pushpins so there is no need to remove motherboard for installation. The noise level is 17.8~30.1dB(A), a very quiet cooler. one of these 2 fans is PWM so it has a 4 pin connector.
