Is it ready to use out of the box or does it need special set-up? Also does the upgrade to windows 10 do good?

Other than the normal automatic upgrades the computer will have to do while it's online, it's ready to go out-of-the-box, no special set up needed.  Windows 10 is Windows 10, you either like it or you don't.  The only issue I've had was that the battery just barely lasted an hour.  We opted to purchase a battery online for around $25 (extended battery) and this has helped.  The warranty that comes with the computer states they will replace the battery if the charge falls below an hour.

Is this wifi connectable?

Yes it is. But like many other older laptops
 You have to turn it on on the side by a switch that it has. Hope this helps.

i want to buy this one but first i want to know if the battery is working and what about the screen it has black/dots?

So far the battery and screen have been fine.  I haven't been able to activate windows,  because they installed pro,  and gave me the key to home.  They sent me an installation disk for home,  and it didn't work.  They sent me a other one,  and it didn't work.  I just got a "new" DVD drive in the mail... Cross your fingers.  I will say,  customer service has been excellent!

Is the 4GB of ram include with laptop a single stick of 4GB ram or 2 X 2GB sticks?

1) i wanted to know whether this model has a webcam?
2) does the keyboard have a backlight?
3) how is the picture quality. i returned a refurbished laptop recently because the picture seemed faded and uncrisp.

1) both of the E6420's that I recently purchased have a webcam.
2) Neither had a backlighted keyboard although I have read several reviews where computers have been received which DID have a lighted keyboard.  I guess it just depends on what they started the refurb process with.  Plan on it not having the lighted keyboard and be surprised if it does.
3) Picture quality on both of mine has been good, no problems with the screen at all.
I have been using a government issued Dell E6420 for the past three years and had no issues.  It worked and worked well.  That's why I selected the E6420, and these refurb E6420's from NewEgg were actually in better shape than my issued computer.

As with any computer, you will need a wireless access point (z.B. A modem, wireless router, or some form of 3G Network Stick) in order to use the internet, but yes, this computer can wirelessly access such points, and other devices on the network (Printers, etc). It also has a toggle switch on the side in order to switch the computers wi-fi abilities on and off.

Is this a off-lease/moderately used product or just a regularly returned product, to gauge wear and tear?

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for a donation.  Both were in excellent condition for a used machine. A couple of small scratches, but otherwise in almost new condition. I would not hesitate to buy another.
