Is there room for installing a SSD in addition to the SSHD? Is there an M2 slot? If not (for both questions), how complicated would it be to switch the storage drive out for a 2.5" SATA SSD in the future?

There is only 1 2.5" SATA HDD slot, so the answer to your first question is: "No, you cannot install a [2.5"] SSD in addition to the SSHD." There is only room for a single 2.5" HDD (SATA) drive (you would have to remove the 1Tb drive that comes installed). There is an M2 slot and you can use both the M2 and the 2.5" SATA HDD slot at the same time.

I'm using a Samsung 970 EVO 500GB in mine as the boot/OS drive.
