Ten key points for installing and maintaining your laptop battery:
- Always turn off your laptop and disconnect it from the power outlet before installing or removing the battery.
- When replacing the battery, carefully remove the old one, place the new one securely in its compartment, and ensure all connectors are properly attached.
- If you are unsure about the installation process, refer to a visual guide or tutorial video online for assistance.
- For a new battery, perform several full discharge/charge cycles (down to around 5% and up to 95%) to help activate and condition it.
- Avoid regularly discharging the battery completely to 0%, as this can damage the battery and shorten its overall lifespan.
- When charging, first connect the battery to the laptop, then plug the power adapter into the electrical outlet.
- Once charging is complete, first unplug the power adapter from the outlet, and then you can disconnect it from the laptop if desired.
- If storing a battery for a long period, ensure it is fully charged and recharge it approximately once a month to maintain its health.
- Never store a battery in a low-charge state for extended periods, as this can significantly reduce its lifespan and performance.
- Only use a compatible power adapter. If a replacement is needed, ensure the model matches the specifications required by your laptop to prevent potential battery damage.
