is this laptop compatible with the valve index vr set?

No, the Valve Index and Oculus Rift S headsets are not compatible with this system or with most GTX 1060 based laptops. The newer VR headsets require that the USB-C/Thunderbolt port be wired direct to the dedicated video card. With this Dell and most other GTX 1060 laptops the HDMI port is wired direct to GTX the USB-C passes through Intel GPU and uses the GTX as a co-processor of sorts. It will not work, I've tried with both. Look for an RTX based laptop.
