Other than the cosmetic damage, it works great? Is the display damaged?

The laptop worked fine, like it states it is scratched and keys are worn.  The Display was 99% okay.  There were 10-15 dead pixels in various spots.  not entirely terrible, you can still see everything you need to see, but every now and then I find myself scratching the screen to see if something was on it.

This is a "Scratch & Dent" item.  What can I expect to see?  How severe is the damage and where is it?

Mine wasn't too bad at all.  Some surface scratches on the outside and some of the keys are worn smooth.  The letters are still printed clearly, just the texture of the keys is worn away.  I have another D630 that was my work computer for 3 years and the wear is comparable.  The screen on mine is very clean and I didn't notice any pixels out.  Battery life is actually better than my old D630 and holds a charge for about 5 hours or so.

where is the scratch and dent damage ?

It depends on the physical item you get.  I ordered a referb. of this model and it has a ding at the left corner of the display flap.  Looks like it was dropped and hit there.  Let's hope they replaced the display if it was damaged.  :-) Other than that, it has a cosmetic scratch on the top of the case, and that's it.  No complaints about the operation.  Works just fine.  These refurbished laptops  have a range of surface imperfections. Some have just a couple, some look more roughed up, so one cannot ask what specific scratches it has.
