The unit that I purchased did not have Microsoft Office and therefore no Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.  Adobe PDF was also not on the unit.  The seller did not indicate that these programs were on the unit.

does this laptop have a built in camera?

There is no built in camera. I have four elementary students who each have one of these computers. Going on our 2nd year and all is going well with them.

Built-in 56K modem?

Hi Will, 
My D620 has an HDA CX11254 Soft Modem installed. I don't know if this a 56k or just a fax modem (is there a difference?). Definitely has the RJ-11 phone line port. From what I know, this should hook up to 56k just fine. I hope that this helps.   -robbie

It does not have a camera. I bought this notbook for my wife and she hates it;the internet connection is slow, sluggish, and choppy. If you plan on using it primarily to surf the net like my wife stay away from this computer and buy something else

Most likely yes, but my mom does not neet to use, she pays for internet connection. If she decides not to pay - than laptop can be connected to neighbore wifi so monthly payment can be shared :)
