as it comes from  Newegg....is it plug & play? I don't have any tech help so it has to be easy!!!
do I need any special software?

When you boot it up, you have to go through the Windows setup which asks you all the regular configuration questions. It leads you through it easy. No special software needed. I would recommend UNINSTALLING all the preinstalled stuff you don't need. Microsoft Office is on it wanting you to purchase - ditch that and install the free Open Office suite you can download from Apache. Or pay and use MS Office.
