Was this computer supposed to have a CD drive? The one that I got either does not have the drive or is not recognizing it. The CD door will not open.

Yes it has a CD drive.  Maybe something is stuck inside the drive.  All CD drives have a small hole on the drive door.  You can use a paperclip to open the door manually.  Even if the computer is turned off, the door will crack open just enough for you to investigate to see if a disk or something is stuck in there.

Also, if you click on the start button, click on Computer, you will see the c:/ drive (Hard Disk).  If there is a disk drive, it should be labeled d:/ or maybe e:/.  If the disk drive is missing, or not installed, the d or e drive will not be visible.

If you just purchased the computer and don't see the CD drive, I suggest you contact Newegg.  They should make good on it but I think you only have 30 days to get it write.

Is it possible to add a dvd writer?

I bee you can. You'll have to buy the DVD Writer hardware and the drivers that come with it. However, make sure that the power supply is rated for it (which it should be). You should have enough expansion slots, too. Just pop the cover and check the power slots (probably where the current DVD drive is) and use that one...when you replace it with the new DVD-RW drive. I ope this gives you a direction. If you're still not sure, Google your question. I'm sure you'll get plentyof directions to follow.

I have purchased this Optiplex 755 from NewEgg. Now I want to run 2 VGA monitors on it. What video card should I get?

I purchased this to run 2 50" reader board displays. I am using an NVidia GT620 with one display on DVI and the other on HDMI. the Optiplex 755 i received did not have the PCI-X riser card that was shown in the pictures so I had to source that elsewhere. You could use the inexpensive GT 620 with two DVI to VGA adapters.

Does the refurbish come with the windows 7 CD?

NO, the refurb only come with the Windows 7 and core components loaded on the harddrive. The key is printed on a tag attached to the side of unit. Any other programs (Word, Excel, etc.) you must purchase separately.

What are the cabinet measurements for this case.  I'm looking for an ultra small form factor?

This is actually fairly large. This is the standard tower form factor that is built to lay on its side.
