From tip to tip, the cable measures 5 feet + 10.25 inches long.  (This measurement was taken at approximately 72 degrees Fahrenheit, while the object was stationary relative to the observer.  :)  )

The screen is matte and has little to know reflection (none I have noticed). Great monitor.

Will this monitor pivot to landscape and also portrait positions?
Is the stand able to separate from the monitor, in order to attach the monitor to an adjustable arm?

Jim. Yes it can be mounted to an adjustable arm if it has the VESA standard 100MM spacing.
Mine is mounted on an Ergotron swivel mount.

IF your docking station supports display port or display port + (allows two monitor connection with one cable) then you should be good.

will this work with a u2414h?

I am not sure I understand your question.

The U2415 and U2414 are different monitors with different resolution (dpi).

U2414 is believe is 1080 versus 1200. The price should be loer for the 2414.

I use the 2415 with a Mac Air 2 to take advantage of the graphics and rsolution at 1200 which is native for the Mac.

I did look at the 2414 and considered it a good monitor as well.

One of the product pictures shows the monitor comes with a disc.  Does the accompanying software include any monitor adjustment functionality?  If so, is there a Mac compatible version of this software?  As a Mac user, what do I need to worry about in the event the monitor comes with only Windows software?  Drawbacks?

The monitor does come with a disc with software allowing customizing the monitor's settings. Unfortunately it's only available for windows, there is no Mac version. You should contact Dell support for more information for Mac users.

How does this monitor handle a 1080x1920 signal?  Does it put a thin black bar on the top and bottom or does it stretch the image?  I'm wondering because I'm going to use it occasionally to watch HDTV from my Xbox.
