Pros: 1. color reproduction i went online and found severall icc profiles along with some standard setups. i am waiting for my spyder to arrive to fully calibrate my monitor. but i will have to say out of the box it was really good to my poor eyesight. and i only really had to adjust brightness and contrast. the brightness is set really high and i toned it down some 2. ease of installation and setup. i recieved my dell on 6/8 with another on the way and will get 1 more for a tri monitor setup. i hooked up my dell using a display port cable running off of a 6790. the colors and details were phenomenal. i changed out from a sansung 6500 series 32 inch led tv. i loved the blacks on a led. the dell is a little brighter in dark scenes but that is to be expected based on the technology. running a few benchmarks like heaven and 3d mark my 1 video card score was cut severly. but considering how many pixels i just upgraded too i was not surprised. i ordered another card for crossfire.

Cons: 1. uniformity. in several reviws people will talk about bleeding. i have some but very minor on the bottom right corner of my screen. though in all honesty i dont notice it even during space scenes. i had to actually look for it. 2. older technology. though the screen is very nice and such with the advent on proliferation of led based lighting i dont see why dell and other companies cant integrate it into their portfolio of products at the ultrasharp level. i think maybe next year or a model refresh or 2 that dell will look at this once prices come down. led or RGB led would have probably increased the price by a lot.

Overall Review: sorry 1000 characters is too little to give an overall review 3. gaming. with such a high pixel density i have not needed to add any AA for my games. i have played star craft 2, eve online, dungeon siege 2, and various others. the one thing i did notice was when i turned off v sync on certain games i induced minor tearing on my screen. this was in eve online. when i enabled v sync the tearing went away. though ingame fraps showed 200+fps so that is what probably induced it. 2. text size. i had to adjust windows to be able to read txt on the screen and see the icons. though i do wear glasses after adjustment i have had no dificulty reading or viewing documents.

Pros: Great color out of the box. I was stunned by the color when I played Crysis2! Just amazing. 2560x1440 resolution is great for games, text, and web browsing. The built-in scaler does a nice job if you want to run lower resolutions than the native 2560x1440.

Overall Review: Be sure to use the supplied Dual Link DVI-digital cable supplied and not a single link cable you may have used before or you won't get the high resolution this monitor is cable of producing.

Pros: This monitor is no joke, its great for everything. For starters the resolution is massive and is a pleasure to work on. The color is deep and vibrant, and not because of extra-processing, the IPS panel is just that good. My older dell S-IPS monitor (slightly older tech) looks dull compared to this. The backlight also can be extremely bright if you want it to be. The fact that it still uses CCFL, while they use more power and make the monitor bulkier, they produce better colors than most LED implementations. Also the Anti-Glare coating might (emphasis on might) be annoying for reading text if you are VERY VERY PICKY. But for me I actually really like the coating it seems to work well. All of the input options on the back are great and the USB+card reader just sweeten the deal. One last thing, this monitor is sleek and black, very professional, looks great with anything.

Cons: Price. For eyefinity setups the bezels might seem a little large. Nothing else that I can think of this monitor is about as good as it gets.

Overall Review: Dell really got it right with this monitor, actually most of their monitors are very good. I got this refurbished for less than on Newegg, and I still had to save up for a little while, but it was worth every penny.

Pros: I purchased this monitor 2-2-2011. Like others have stated - I was concerned about the anti-glare coating that has been mentioned by several owners What anti-glare coating? I've never noticed it. I wish my laptop had the same coating. In the wrong lighting situations you can see reflections of everything except what you're working on. I do a lot of work with photoshop and couldn't be happier. It's nice to be able to open two windows side by side and be able to work in both easily. I would buy this monitor again with no hesitation. Three year advance exchange warranty. Hope I never have to test it.

Cons: Perhaps price, but if you're patient Dell occasionally offers a significant discount. Most who are looking at higher resolution monitors understand they are going to pay for it.

Pros: This is my first premium panel and I should admit that after reading many reviews my expectations for this monitor were set quite high. When I finally got mine and set it up I was still not prepared to this level of perfection. The picture looked simply amazing! The color accuracy is astonishing. The resolution is great and the amount of real estate I can use is more than I need. Static images as well as video playback look much better than on any other display I’ve ever seen in my life. Setup was easy and only took a few minutes. I used the included dual-link video cable to hook it up to my PC's video card. Of course, there are a variety of other connections available with this display. The additional USB ports available on the side are also helpful as well as the built-in card reader.

Cons: The price may be steep for many and I did think twice before spending close to $1K on a monitor but don’t regret I got one after all, it’s a good investment.

Overall Review: My Windows Ultimate 7 recognized the monitor as a generic PnP device initially but manual driver update quickly detected the device and installed the correct driver from Windows Update site.

Pros: - Two words: pixel density - Big without being too big (more on this below) - Gorgeous colors, good viewing angles - More inputs than you can shake a stick at (seriously, the selection on this thing is incredible) - Good OSD / controls - Minimalist external design - NO GLASS OR GLOSS - PIP, not that I'll be using it - CCFL backlit (better color) - Zero dead / stuck pixels on this example

Cons: - Doesn't handle fast-moving images terribly well. It's not much worse in this respect than any other LCD I've ever used, but if you look closely you can definitely see some blurring / ghosting in fast-moving, high-contrast images. I've also noticed some tearing (usually most apparent in the top third of the screen) while playing FPSes, though I'm not 100% sure yet if that's the display or vsync not working properly (I'm experimenting with adaptive vsync settings on my new GTX 680 to try and remedy this). The tearing is also apparent if you take a window and drag it around the screen rapidly using the mouse. - Very slight backlight leak near the top left of the screen. Only noticeable when looking at a pure black screen, not really a big deal. - Slight "IPS glow" when looking at pure black - Monitor power LED remains lit while screen is on (minor niggle, easy fix with some black tape) - CCFL backlit (heat / power draw) - Demands a high-end GPU if you want to game

Overall Review: Don't let my big cons box throw you-- this is an amazing monitor and I don't regret my purchase in the slightest. When it comes to details, I have pretty sensitive eyes (more sensitive than my friends' anyway) and I'm pretty picky. This panel may not be the best for FPS gaming, but it doesn't impede me in any way. BF3 at 2560x1440 with a good GPU is a treat on this panel. More importantly, any shortcomings this display has in the gaming department are more than compensated for by its other characteristics-- the pixel density, color representation, and brightness of this screen are fantastic; the input selection is unbeatable; and the physical size is "just right"-- it's just as wide as a 30" panel, but not as tall. I find this nice, since I think the height of 30" 16:10 panels is a little excessive (although at smaller sizes, I prefer 16:10). It's easy to take the whole panel in without moving your eyes around too much, but still feels big. This display rules.

Cons: 1. cost (no eggs deducted) just wishful thinking 2. response time - VERY MINOR ghosting If you are a person who notices the smallest of video defects which I do, then you might see it. I noticed it but it is so minor that it does not detract from my gaming experience. Most people who have viewed my monitor don't see any ghosting at all. But once again, it all depends on how sensitive your eyes are to video defects. NOTE: You need to use the DisplayPort connection to maximize this monitor's potential. If you don't have DisplayPort, I would HIGHLY recommend you upgrade to a video card which supports it.

Overall Review: I can't say enough good things about this monitor. I was a little worried when I purchased it because of some people's comments regarding the anti-glare coating. However, I don't have any issues with it or notice any image defects from it. This monitor is the sweet spot for the size to price to resolution ratio. If you want a larger monitor, you are venturing into the price range of buying an HDTV. Most 27" monitors are 1920 x 1200 or 1920 x 1080 resolution but this one is capable of 2560 x 1440 resolution. What this means is you can get more space for your desktop and viewable area. Most importantly, HD content will look better if you have upscaling playback software. The resolution of this monitor scales HD content almost perfectly since it has the proper aspect ratio ([1920 x 1.333... = ~ 2560] & [1080 x 1.333... = ~ 1440]). The next step up in resolution which is 2560 x 1600 does not scale properly at its native resolution for widescreen movies since it has a different aspect ratio. Of course games will also look better when played at the higher resolution. You can power this monitor with an Nvidia 690 so that games will maintain high frame rates even at 2560 x 1440. If you purchase a 30" monitor which will be 2560 x 1600, your fps will start to impact your gaming experience even with an Nvidia 690. But to put it plainly, everything including games, images, video, etc. just look better on this monitor than anything else I have ever seen in person. The first time I watched Avatar at 1440P resolution, I was amazed by the clarity! The only minor issue is the response time. It will display some very minor ghosting when gaming if you are someone who notices the smallest of video defects. I can see it but it is so little that it doesn't bother me or take away from the experience. Lastly, I should state that I do have the older Dell 2709W as well. For the sake of comparison, I want to say that while the 2709W was a great monitor, the U2711 is a HUGE improvement! Pros: This monitor is gorgeous. The cool colors are very nice, instead of feeling overly-saturated like on most monitors. The warms colors, especially red and orange, really just pop. I've never seen such beautiful, accurate, reds and oranges on any monitor, or screen, ever. The stand is beautiful, also. The monitor is easy to slide up or down and fix the height where you want it. But will easily stay in place. The USB ports and card reader are all very good quality, and transfer data quickly. Plenty of inputs, all with accurate colors just as the others. The OSD buttons are all awesome, and work great. The LED colors aren't overly bright. People say this monitor gives off "heat" but I'd say just about the same as your regular monitor. I'm just stunned with the quality of the screen, and monitor, all together as a whole. There is absolutely no noticeable input lag or ghosting, even while gaming.

Cons: Really, none. Some small things, but that's more personal preference, and shouldn't shy anyone away from buying this monitor: - The LED color is blue. I'd have preferred a true-white color. - The DELL logo is shiny. No big deal. - The power button is glossy, while the rest of the bezel is not. Why? lol

Overall Review: I'm seriously completely amazed with the monitor. Mine came literally PERFECT right out of the box. I didn't need to adjust colors or calibrate anything at all. Some people say the AG is annoying, but if you focus on your work or what you're viewing, instead of just mindlessly staring at blank spaces on the screen, you'll not be bothered by it. The PPI of this monitor feels near-perfect. It's around 108 PPI. The highest I've used comfortably is 140 PPI which my laptop screen has. (13.3" 1600 x 900). These pixel densities are pretty much perfect, in my opinion. Now may not be the right time to buy, with the up-coming Dell U2713HM or other, high-resolution monitors getting ready to come out. But those monitors may not have the vivid colors, or accuracy, features, and inputs, this monitor has. It was worth every single penny of it. My system runs BF3 on Ultra (except 0 x MSAA, not needed at this resolution) at 60+ FPS - i5 2500k -12 GB DDR3 1333 RAM - Crossfire 6950 2GB
