What revision of this model is NewEgg currently shipping?  A00, A01, or A02?

The unit that I purchased in July 2013 is the A00 version of the monitor.  I have owned several Dell UltraSharp monitors in the past and have been very satisfied with them, as we are with this one.  Resolution, color palette and off axis viewing are all outstanding

1) does this have built in speakers?
2) is this compatible with an i-mac mini

1) It doesn't have built in speaker.  It has an audio out though.  I'm using it with external speakers connected to the audio out.

2) I've used it with a desktop PC (SAPPHIRE 100311-3L Radeon HD 6970) and with my Chromebook Pixel.  The PC works very well (max resolution) when connected with either the DVI-D or the DisplayPort.  The Chromebook Pixel works very well (max resolution) with the DisplayPort.

Question 3

Is there a USB port on the bottom of the panel where the video connectors are? Or are they only on the side?

There are two USB ports on the bottom (in addition to the port that connects it to your computer) as well as on the left side. Works well for keyboard/mouse and then other random things like a smartcard reader or flash drive.

I just bought this monitor and does it come with the necessary connection cables so that I can have maximum resolution or do I have to purchase the cable separately?

It comes with a six foot DVI cable that will give the maximum resolution. There are no speakers so the video alone is what you get. You will be able to get maximum resolution right out of the box, assuming you have a DVI out on your video card or motherboard.

To get sound, I bought a Comprehensive DisplayPort 1.2 cable and the AX510 sound bar that fits this monitor. If you want to plug your headphones into the monitor then you will also need to use a DisplayPort cable or just add a stereo 3.5 mm cable to the DVI cable. (most people have extra stereo cables around.)

The USB 3.0 hub is nice and it does come with a USB 3.0 connection cable.

Is it possible to mount these monitors on a wall?

The best answer is "probably."   You'd need an off-the-shelf TV wall mount kit to do the job.  There aren't any places in the back of the Dell for screws, so the wall mount would need to have the ability to hold the monitor at top and bottom, wrapping over and around the edge of the bezel.  This might require some crafty mechanical work.

I will need to use this monitor with a Dell laptop (that has an HDMI port) as well as a mac book pro. Do I need any specific cables?

I bought this monitor and use it for editing photos and i find it to be AMAZING monitor. However if you use an HDMI cable with it you will NOT be able to use the monitor with the  full 2560x1440 resolution. The day i first got it i plugged it in using an HDMI cable and was freaking out because it was only giving me like the the standard 1920x1080 resolution. I finally read the manual and in order to use this monitor with the highest resolution you need to  use a white DVI cable instead of the HDMI. I still baffles me as to why the HDMI cannot support it, but thats the way it is.

What is the difference between a Dell U2713H and a Dell U2713 HM?

TLDR: the U2713H has extra capabilities that won't be useful to most users, and involves more things to tweak.

Details: The U2713H has 10-bit color depth and a much wider color gamut, getting close to full Adobe RGB support. The U2713HM has 8-bit color depth and supports just a tad more than sRGB color gamut.

This difference is mostly of interest to graphics professionals who are going to do print-oriented work, and also care about the closest possible representation of the exact colors possible in print. It might be relevant in some other fields such as medical imaging. But (simplifying slightly) it requires that your input and final output be capable of reproducing more than sRGB.

You might think that there is no harm from having the extra capability, but on the H you may find yourself needing to switch the monitor to sRGB mode, else apps and software that are bypassing color calibration will show colors that seem washed-out and flattened, kind of lower contrast. Plus, from some reviews, the average user finds the sRGB mode on the H model to be less desirable than what the HM does in that regard—even though the H is technically more accurate.

Question 10

Will the GIGABYTE GV-N75TOC-2GI drive two of these monitors at 2560x1440 via the 2 hdmi ports on this video card? This setup will be used mainly for photo editing and not gaming.

Should work no problem I would use the DVI ports instead but hdmi with good quality cables should do fine just make sure they support higher resolutions Hdmi 1.4 or higher cable but dvi cables are way cheaper and support 2560x1440p it's a very good monitor you will be happy with its performance especially for photo editing
