I am interested in this computer to install in my church as a multimedia machine. I am concerned about the wifi speed and also the system's ability to stay cool.  Can you comment on these areas for me so I feel more confident about making a recommendation?

First off I just helped my brother who is a pastor order this for that exact reason. It has a wireless N card in it & wifi reception & speed are great. Now if you plan on installing it in an enclosed cabinet With your router a considerable distance away then performance will suffer. This computer has a cooling fan in the rear so no problems with cooling unless of course you install in an enclosed cabinet.
  None of these things I mentioned are negatives. After doing a lot of research I settled on this one & he is extremely pleased with it. He set it up as a dual monitor with a 28" monitor & a projector.

Question 3

Does this computer come equipped with capabilities to connect three monitors without having to buy a new video card?

It sure does with all 3 connectors: VGA, DVI and HDMI. Side note about HDMI...at least in my experience and after updates, it forces all sound go to through the HDMI IF your monitor as an audio out jack...just something to keep in mind.

Doesn't this have an Ethernet jack for network connection?

Linda, besides it having wireless capabilities, it also has an Ethernet port, which is what I'm currently using. Hope that helps. It's a great PC, very fast and capable. I highly recommend it!

how many usb ports does this have?? wi/fi I assume??

Sorry for the delayed response.  The quick answers to your questions are that there are 10 usb of mixed 2 and 3 level, and yes there is wifi, and also Bluetooth.  See the Dell specification manual on the Dell site (newegg does not allow me to include the link), also the quick setup and full user's maintance manual.

does this unit have usb 3.0?

Yes, it does. I have a screenshot here of my Device Manager proving it, but NewEgg doesn't allow the inclusion of links., html, or images in the answers. But yes, this computer does have USB 3.

The Windows 8.1 disc...is it Professional? Assuming it is because it comes with 7 Professional.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by professional. The computer runs very fast, and it is a perfect application for video editing, gaming, and much more, as it is very powerful. I recommend this computer to anyone wanting a great deal on a fast computer. I have had one for about 3 weeks, and do far it is perfect.

Does it come with a monitor?

this machine I  ordered has disk issue. I can't install the linux OS to it. During the installation, it complains can't find disk.

I might need to return it or can someone send me a new disk to try it out again

I do not want windows 8 , just  windows 7. Is 8 already installed?

The one that I ordered a few weeks ago came with Windows 7 installed. There is a Windows 8.1 recovery disk that came with it.

this is a windows 7 machine, besides the speed stability, and reliability so far has been good.  only down side is I don't have enough time to use it to its full potential as of yet.   I currently am working on my masters in cyber security, and studying for the cissp....
