What diameter is this wire rope?
The black-coated cable measures about 1.5 mm overall, with an approximately 1.2 mm steel core under the vinyl coating. Check actual dimensions before choosing size-specific fittings.
What is included?
You get one 328 ft spool of black vinyl-coated 304 stainless steel wire rope and 150 silver aluminum double-barrel crimp sleeves. A cutter, crimping tool, anchors and tensioners are not included.
Do I need a crimping tool?
A proper crimping tool is recommended for cleaner, more consistent crimps. Standard pliers may not provide the same result. Use a suitable cable cutter for clean cuts and to reduce fraying.
What projects is it best for?
It is intended for light-duty DIY support such as outdoor string lights, garden trellises, clotheslines, picture or décor hanging, and similar homeowner or garden projects.
Can it safely hold 368 lb?
368 lb is the supplier-specified breaking strength, not a safe working-load rating. Do not use this cable for lifting people, fall protection, towing, zip lines, aircraft control, structural railings or other safety-critical loads.
