How does the DYMO work? Manually or Battery/Power operated?

These DYMO labels require a DYMO Label Writer Printer that connects to your PC over USB and is powered by a AC to DC brick type power supply.  The labels have a thermal reactive ink on them that is activated by the print head instead of applying ink to labels like a traditional ink jet or laser printer.  With the ink being thermally activated exposure to high heat may cause your label to become non legible and the ink on the labels tends to fade quicker than a standard laser printer or in jet.  But with that said they do work well I use them to label products with part numbers and barcode numbers.
