Will this include the ps4 upgrade code?

Yes, it will include a code within the game case to upragde the ps3 version of battlefield 4 to the ps4 version. The code is redeemable by late March.  The playstaion 3 - disc of battlefield 4 is still required to play on the ps4, simply  by inserting the playstaion 3 disc in the ps4.

Does this game work now? I really want to buy it but I want to make sure it doesnt break my ps3 like many others have had done to them?

Not sure what you mean by "breaking your PS3".  I played through the campaign (single player) start to finish when it came out and didn't have any issues (no lockup or other issues).  I only played online once when it first came out so I don't have much experience with online play.  Sorry I can't be more help.
