Is this the actual game on a disc or is this the empty DVD case with keycode electronic download version the description doesn't say?

This is a physical copy like you would purchase from a retailer. If it were digital it would state "Online Game Code" next to the name of the game.  Enjoy and may the force be with you.

Will this game ever be released to the console PS3?

Most likely not as Sony is gearing away from PS3, plus many of the features of this game would not work well for the PS3, mainly the graphics and fast online play.

Why does it say 2014?
I didn't think it was even released until around this time 2015

I don't believe the PS4 version is.  The PC version has ways to alter language though - I saw a Reddit thread on the topic in /r/StarWarsBattlefront
