Heya, hope someone can help me out; was filling out my rebate form, and at the bottom, it asks for the motherboard serial # (required 4 rebate)…Q: where the heck is it? I looked all over this board, both sides, and there is no "s/n" attribute anywhere on the board. There is a sticker w/ some #s on it over the mini-pci, and a couple #s on the underside--again, no way to ID it, because no 's/n'…

I did an online chat with Newegg customer service and they confirmed that the serial number on record is the bottom most number on the upc/ean sticker from the box. I had cut the whole thing off, so it was as simple as just copying that number after you attach it to the form. It seems redundant, but that is in fact the one they are looking for. I printed out my chat in case I run into issues... they were happy to confirm the serial number with me via chat, if you want that extra level of assurance for yourself.

do you need a fan for the processor?

No. I use mine to stream hd vids and watch tv through a networked tuner. Never gets too hot and its in a mini itx case with the hdd mounted right above the heatsink.

PicoPSU 80 watt is more than enough.  CPU pulls around 15 watts, motherboard and chipset around 21 watts total.

Where is the serial number which is required for the rebate?

Supposed to be a letter, then 5 numbers, then a letter, then 8 numbers.

I ended up using the code that's on the metal housing below the audio ports.  While it doesn't conform exactly to ECS website's format (1 letter - 5 numbers - 1 letter - 8 numbers), it's the closest I can find and it matches what's on the UPC label (at the bottom of the label) which is 2 letters - 4 numbers - 1 letter and 8 numbers.

Others might have it different but that's the format of the "serial number" I used.

Any recommendations for the ITX case?

I used a Cooler Master Elite 120 case. Purchased from NewEgg, Got it on sale AND a CM rebate! Everything fits nicely especially if you need an optical drive. I use it as a dedicated Media Sever. Don't think it's made any more so look at the 130 or 110. Smaller cases are available if you don't need an optical drive. Also have  Raidmax for different use. Watch for Newegg sales and rebates for best value.

Can this board run ECC memory? I have a 8GB of ECC DDR3 1333MHz ram and want to know if it can run it. I checked the product page and the specific RAM I have is not listed but I was just wondering if Anyone got ECC RAM working on this machine.

Nope.. ECC does not work on this board. I tried it.

Does the PCI Express 16x Support Graphics Cards?

Yes.  The PCI Express slot can support graphic cards.  Had used a GTX 470 before and works well.  But you probably cannot take advantage of the full 16x, likely around 4x or so according to the manual.  Still good enough though.
