Question 1

My work wifi just misses reaching my workstation. I use a pssword to log on when in range, is this all I need to connect the extender is my logon password?

Yes that's pretty much all you need.  Setup takes 5 minutes.  The instructions it comes with are pretty easy to follow.  At first when you plug it in, it will show up with it's own SSID.  I think it "Edimax".  You will log into it's web interface with the username and password provided in the instructions.  Once you are logged in to the extender, you will tell it what SSID to extend, that being your work network.  When you are finished, your computer will now see two SSIDs "WorkWifi", and "WorkWifiExtend" (you can name it what you want) just as an example.  You would connect to "WorkWifiExtend" which should have much better signal strength.

Question 2

Does the WiFi sleep mode really work?  My internet router is in my bedroom and the WiFi keeps me up all night.  I can't get any sleep.  Maybe the signal is too strong.  If I move it to the den, then I can get some sleep, but then I have to use the laptop in my den too and that's no good.  I want to be able to use the computer in the bedroom AND get some sleep but I can't turn off the machine so the Wifi keeps me awake.  I'm so tired.

Yeah the sleep mode is good. I programmed it to shut off after a certain hour at night and go on again in the morning. The idea was so I would stop surfing and go to bed. Works well.

Question 3

I have bought this repeater but it only repeats the signal on 802.11g network instead of 802.11n network, however the original signal is an n network. Did anybody else meet with this problem?

Never used a repeater. How is security handled? Does it rely upon the source device's settings (e.g. WPA2-AES)? Thx

The short answer is yes.  You log the repeater into your router with the router's password, then 'repeat' the password to log your device into the repeater.  The EDIMAX website has some downloads, including the Quick Installation Guide, that cover this.  One of the last entries in the Guide is the statement:  "The password for your Wi-Fi extender’s SSID is the same as for your router’s SSID."  The spec sheet for this product lists WPA2-PSK, but not AES.  I don't know if that is an issue or not.  It works pretty well, and apparently is adaptive, because it worked better (had better signal) after a few days.

I AM TRYING TO EXTEND THE WI-FI RANGE IN OUR CHURCH.  I AM WONDERING IF THIS PARTICULAR UNIT CAN BE USED IN SERIES TO CONTINUE THE SIGNAL OVER A LONG DISTANCE?
