1) this device is capable of sending and receiving 300Mbps of data, and is designed for internal installation within a Desktop PC.  The PC needs to have a PCI Express x1 slot available (more lanes will also work, such as x4, x6, or x16) on the motherboard.  This adapter goes inside the case, so all-in-one/nettop computers won't properly accommodate it.

2) Installation is very simple, provided you follow basic precautions for dealing with exposed circuitry.  First, make sure you follow the included instructions, and be sure to read them BEFORE installing the card.  Second, when actually installing the card into the slot on the motherboard, make sure the computer is OFF, AND COMPLETELY UNPLUGGED FROM THE WALL.  After unplugging the computer, press the power button a few times to dissipate residual capacitor charges.  Third, be sure you are electrically grounded any time you are touching the motherboard, the wifi card, or any other exposed parts within the case; usually this means using an anti-static wrist strap, or touching the outside metal of the case or the power supply unit.  Do not work over carpet, and either wear sneakers or go barefoot, as socks or sandals can generate friction and static electricity, which can damage components.  Also, do not drag or shuffle your feet.  To plug in, line it up with the available slot and associated case bracket, and just put it in, and be sure it is all the way in, without forcing it.  Screw it into the bracket, and attach the antennas.  Turn the computer on, and install the driver from the website or the disk by running the executable file (*.exe), and follow the on screen prompts.  Restart the computer to finish the installation.
