How do you use a nut milk bag, and why is the seam on the outside?
Use it wirh the seam on the outside to keep pulp out. It's way easier to rinse off. There's a full color recipe book with tips in every bag. Learn how to soak various nuts, how to squeeze the bag properly and how to clean it.... and a lot more.
How do you squeeze the bag for best results?
Many people don't realize there is a method used when you squeeze a nut milk bag. It makes the nut milk or juices quickly strain through the bag without it clogging with pulp. We call it the "knead squeeze method". Full instructions are included.
Which is better 200 micron mesh or 100 micron mesh and why is there an assortment bag with both 100 & 200 mesh sizes?
The 4pk Assortment has both. 100 micron is finer mesh, best for Greek yogurt and Cold Brew Coffee. It keeps yogurt and coffee grounds from straining through it. 200 micron is perfect for nut milks and juices. Yogurt must be "placed" in a 100 mc bag.
Which is better, nylon or cotton bags?
Our popular food grade nylon bags are super durable & last for years. They're perfect for nut milks, juicing & non-cooking use. Cotton bags can be used for filtering hot both - cooked recipes with hot liquids & nut milks & juicing. Both work great!
Is Ellie's Best a family owned small business?
It all started when my son developed a milk allergy and we wanted to make plant based milks for him. I bought bags online and found them lacking in many ways, so I designed a bag that filtered well, was the perfect size & high quality I'm proud of.
