ENCORE ENLWI-N Wireless Adapter IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI 2.3 Up to 300Mbps Wireless Data Rates

Pros: Alright guys here is the low down on this one. It uses the RT2860 chipset, which is pretty new. They have support for WindowsXP 32/64bit and Vista 32/64bit. They have also, released a legacy linux driver with full source code. From what I can tell its only 32bit but being opensource it shouldnt be long before its ported to 64bit. The guys at rt2x00 plan on having support for the RT2860 chipset by version 2.1.x I have purchased it but I havnt recieved it, just sharing my research with whoever was wondering the same thing.

Cons: Havnt recieved yet.

Pros: Easy setup, especially if you use the Ralink reference drivers for this card (2860 chipset) Just make sure you get the settings right the first time as it will default to the strongest open network it can find if yours is not available (wrong wpa key ect) and it takes an un-install of the software and reinstall to fix (not really that hard) The drivers on Encores website are older than the Ralink ones, (v1.0.3.0 vs. 1.0.4.0) Strong signal 90% in a spot I couldn't get my 802.11g to get 30%. Signal is solid and does not drop. Used a Dl*nk extension antenna to get the antenna out from under the desk, makes a big difference. The level one N adapter card/antenna combo here at the Egg works good too just don't use the card as it's draft one only. Bit more money than the Dl*nk, but longer cord on the antenna. (3' vs. 5') Have this paired with an Encore N router and it works great, >270 MB/s all the time.

Cons: Driver disk that comes with it is out of date, but current drivers are easy to find google "ralink drivers" and look for the ones for the 2860 chipset. Wish it came with a corded antenna so I could get better placement than just in back of my computer. But hey for the $, what do you want, it's still cheaper than most other N cards even if you buy the extra antenna. Eba* has lots of rp-sma antennas to replace the 2dbi ones if you want also.

Overall Review: They didn't come out and install it, but you can't have everything.

Pros: This card works fine in Windows XP. However, don't expect blazing fast connection speeds. I'd say I'm able to tap into about half the maximum bandwidth of my internet connection.

Cons: I'm not sure how important long antennas are, but these ones seem to be awfully short and the connection is all over the map. It will go from 54 mbps one minute to only 1 mbps the next. The Windows 7 64-Bit drivers are horrible. They work intermittently at best and my download speeds dropped significantly with the newest drivers. How bad? Well I have a 6 meg connection and I can't even get connection speeds greater than 100 kbps. Also, I get constant system lags and stalls when I'm connected to my wireless network with this card. It stalls every 3-4 seconds. Imagine dragging your cursor across your desktop screen and every 3-4 seconds it freezes for a second, and then unfreezes and then freezes again, and unfreezes. This happens constantly! It's not the router because I've connected two different ones and it exhibits the same problem

Overall Review: I've had this card for about 3 months now and I was happy with it up until a few weeks ago when I upgraded to Windows 7. I'm sure they'll fix this issue with time, but for now it's an absolute headache.

Pros: Simple driver installation and setup under Linux. They actually provide you with driver source code! Wow! Excellent stability and signal strength as well.

Cons: None.

Overall Review: Attn Linux Users: You DO NOT need ndiswrapper for this. Linux driver source is available. This is a Ralink RT2860 chipset card. Driver source is available from the Ralink Tech website.

Pros: Great card for the price, didn't notice the ralinktech.com for driver RT2860. I was getting 130 mbps until i updated now i'm recieving the 300 full with 2 10 db anteanas.

Cons: wish i had the ralkinktech drivers first. gotta read a few more reviews next time!

Pros: I would say this wireless adapter is one of the best at a low price I have ever owned. The N capability makes this adapter a much have. Of course for distance wise, it all depends on your location. In the High Dessert I am able to pick of signals around 200+ feet away. I use this product with the Linksys WRT54GL. As for my download, upload speed they seem to not change any. For gaming, my ping seems to normally be around 20-60, and occasionally it will be near 130, with the rare 1-2 sec freeze up. I am using the ralink driver for this adapter which works 100% with no problems. I tested it on different floors and rooms, not noticing much change. For those 64 bit users trying to find an adapter compatible with your computer, this adapter works on XP 64 bit. 3 antennas allow the maximum connection possible.

Cons: The only con I might be able to see here is that using the ralink driver. But the driver performs 100%. Overall Review: I am a steam user, I play Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Source, and much more. As I stated above, my ping is low, and the network will rarely have a 1-2 sec freeze happening maybe once or twice in an hour period. I think it is more just lag from the particular server, because some servers I never have it happen. This product works great, if you are complaining about not getting enough speed, It more then likely may just be your wireless router or the location of the adapter. Make sure you point the antennas directly to the router, even when wall is there. I did not use the driver on the cd, just because some 64 bit users seemed to have trouble with it. I am able to pick up an unsecure linksys router, so yea. >=]

Pros: installed unit let windows find the drivers on the CD then told windows to set up my connection and off she went then did windows update for their latest driver and it going great getting a download speed of around 16,879kb/s and uploads of 3,125kb/s upload yes I get better with wired but I don't realy need 32,000kb/s speeds since rarely download large files about once a month at most did test on video file download of 2.88GB it took about 1 hour 22 minutes no complaints here been running for about 48 hours and have not dropped connection due to the card so I am happy

Cons: none yet as long as the card lasts

Overall Review: I'm using this card with the TRENDnet TEW-633GR router I just bought from newegg. What a great combo. I get 300 and 270 speeds and usually 100% connection strength anywhere in my house (2 story). I just downloaded a 26MB file (Realtek sound drivers for Vista) from Major Geeks at an average speed of 800Kbps. The point is, I didn't lose any speed by not being directly connected to the cable modem. LAN games are also just as good, or faster.
