No scanner, just a basic printer with no frills, I buy 8 to 10 a year and use them with edible inks in a bakery.

will it work on an winxp computer?

I have bought a number of these, the price is low and they are good for making labels etc. for our store. We mostly use them with our older computers that use XP or Windows 7. They do not last as long as the older printers as this model has been around at least 8 years, but usually good for about a year. As the new printer with ink costs as much as 2 sets of replacement cartridges, better to just buy a new printer if there are problems. This model needs head cleaning a lot, but easy to do. Basically a good printer for the price.

Does it work with windows 8?

Yes, it does work with Windows 8. I just installed 8.1 and my Epson C88 made the transition with no problem. In fact, the computer I have the printer attached to was running XP so I was unable to network my other computers to this printer. Once I moved up to Windows 8 I was able to network the other prints so now they can all print directly to the Epson C88. This is a really reliable printer and I've been very pleased with it.

Can this printer print on thicker papers, such as cardstock?

You can print on Epson Premium Presentation Paper Matte, which is 9 ml. or 44lb. It's a light card stock. I haven't tried anything thicker than that. I use it for signage, printing photos on it. I back it with a thicker card.

Will Reman Epson T0601 thru 604 Value 4 Pac be compatible to this printer?

We have owned this printer for 7 years.  It is the best printer for documents and photos that I have ever used.

Yes, T0601 - T0604 ink cartridges fit the printer and provide excellent color.  Never "blobs".

Does this purchase come with all the necessary cables for immediate use?  I have seen this model advertised some places "without cables".  Thanks!

It only comes with the power cable and a set of inks.  You will need to supply your own usb cable before printing.

Will this printer work on a Windows 95 pc using the Windows 98 drivers?

The vendor passed your question on to me as we recently purchased the printer.  We are using the printer with Windows 7 so I have no idea whether or not it would work with Windows 95 with Windows 98 drivers.  I suggest you contact the manufacturer directly or take a look at the spec sheet if you haven't already done that.
