I got this free when ordering another item. It is the 2014 version CD sleeve. Does it update to 2016?

If you go to eset dot com/download you can get the most recent version.  Just pick "Already Purchased".  Use the key from the package to activate it.  I have had good luck with older keys still activating newer versions.

Does the 2014 version update to 2015 version?

It's installed and registered.. Product validated until 4/25/16 (1 year after installation) I don't see anything about 2014 vs. 2015, and I don't think it's relevant. You can install it, and it will update to the latest anti-virus definitions. That's the important part.

What's with this "CD Sleeve" stuff? I'm getting a serial nbr / auth code but still have to download it, correct? Cause an empty CD sleeve by itself is useless at any price.

Will it get one year of use and updates from the activation date regardless of the 2014 on the product?

There was a CD and an installation and activation card with an authorization code on it in the ESET NOD32 CD sleeve I received when I ordered this antivirus program from newegg.  I read the CD into my computer using the CD drive, the program installed, and then I entered the authorization code and was told by ESET that the program would be good for one year from that date, meaning I think that I would get updates for one year.  I don't know if the program is on the CD or if it downloads from the ESET site because I was on the internet when I read the CD, but I think there should be a CD in the sleeve, along with the authorization number / installation card.

Is this the program on a cd or is this for someone who already has the program and wants to update it?

If it's coming over mail, it'll have a cd but it should say in the description. Even if it were an update, you still need a way to install it. Note, if you should get a paper ONLY (which I've never seen happen) with a serial key, you can always go to ESET DOT COM and download the right version and use your key to unlock it.
