You will receive an ESET License Key (hard copy) via post.
Download your product, enter License Key, your ESET product will be activated.

Yes.  1 year per device per license. So 3 devices for one year each from point of activation.  In theory you could also use it as 3 years of activation for 1 device if you used another license when the initial one is up.  Eset actually has a really good tool built into the user profile on their site which lets you view the activated keys and what devices they are live on and for how long.  You can even pull down license keys to the antivirus client from it iirc.  Eset also auto updates all licensed users to whatever the latest version is, so a key usage from 2019 should theoretically still yield full benefit if used in 2020 or so on.
