    Why is Eucalan no-rinse?

The formula doesn't require that it be rinsed. With your first soak in Eucalan, you should likely see the water in the wash basin turn a bit brown. The soap releases dirt into the wash basin, & though the clothing absorbs a little of the soap, it is beneficial. Lanolin fortifies & conditions clothing fibres - particularly great for woolens & knits, but can be used on most anything.

Scented with only pure essential oils, some of them contain long-term cleaning properties that are intended to remain in the clothing to further benefit from; Think swim suits & lingerie that lie close to the skin, or blankets & knitted sweaters that get packed away for the cold months.

Eucalan’s no-rinse formula is also convenient – great for travel when you’re not likely to have a washing machine, or are seeking to conserve water.

If you still feel the urge to rinse, it is safe to do so. The soap has done its job of cleaning, though you will lose the lasting effects of the lanolin & essential oils.

    Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus oil offers particularly great protection on woolens and items that are stored away for certain seasons. This scent clears the mind, and sinuses while promoting relaxation.

    Eucalyptus Delicate Wash

    Eucalan's Most Neutral Scent

Eucalyptus Delicate Wash is Eucalan’s original scent. First introduced in 1989, it is scented using only the essential oil of eucalyptus. This fresh, clean scent is an excellent unisex choice.

Does one Eucalan scent clean better than the other?

Each scent of Eucalan launders the same, releasing dirt from the item and into the water. However, certain essential oils have different lasting benefits. Grapefruit and Lavender have unique cleaning characteristics. Lavender and Eucalyptus have properties best used on woolens and items that get stored away periodically.

    Knits & Woolens

For woolens in particular, no rinse is an important concept. Wool fibre has barbs on it that have a tendency to link together when agitated or washed in the wrong temperature of water. This leads to "felting" and shrinking. Using a no rinse product ensures that the water temperature is not being changed between the wash and rinse water. It also means that you are handling the fibres less and decreasing the danger of "felting" it. The lanolin in Eucalan is a natural conditioner for wool, so it helps to increase the loft of the fibre and decrease the itchiness of wool by relaxing the barbs.

    Blankets & Bedding

From handmade quilts to linen duvets, Eucalan is safe to launder all types of bedding. With its natural protective properties, Eucalyptus makes for a clean and crisp scent to sleep to. It is also the preferred scent to launder heavy blankets and woolens in before storing for the warmer seasons.

    Carpets & Upholstery

Carpets and rugs benefit from spot cleaning and full cleaning. Eucalan requires no rinsing, so it makes this tedious job a little easier.

Get tough to reach spots of upholstery with Eucalan in a carpet cleaner machine, or add to water in a spray bottle to periodically freshen up.
