Question 1

I'm considering getting this card within the next week or two, but I also am in need of an upgraded psu I'm sure (bought a prebuilt computer for Black Friday at my local Staples to slowly upgrade and eventually build my own). What would be a good psu to get to ensure that I won't have a paper weight?

The specs say a 600 watt PSU with 42 amps on the +12 rail, so depending on the cpu and addons 600 should be fine, but whatever kind you get make sure its bronze certified or better because if you use a really bad/unefficient psu you may end up having problems down the road. I'm currently using a cooler master 800 watt gold cert psu and i'm not having any problems whereas I had a problem with a 680 watt psu with a different GPU and it nearly killed my system, also if you're using a prebuilt pc make sure that you get a modular PSU - that means that the cables that come with it are removable from the PSU so you only use the cables you will need for your system, this will be essential for airflow and so you don't have a huge load of unnecessary cables to try and manage

Question 3

I am interested in buying this card but want to make sure I have the PSU to run it.  My PSU is Raidmax RX-1000AE which is 1000w total but I am more concerned with the "minimum of 42 amps on the +12 volt rail" part.

I have come across conflicting information on how to determine the amps on the +12 volt rail and not sure which to go by. My PSU has 4 +12v rails @ 36amps. Do I need one rail to be over 42 or the combined number to exceed 42?

Sounds like it would run this card no problem. This card has two 12 volt power connectors not one. So if your power supply can deliver 36 amps on each rail your total amps available would be 72.

I have two of these cards running on a 850 watt, single rail power supply at 70 amps with no problems at all. Try to stick to single rail supply's in my opinion it makes things a lot easier. Good Luck!

What is the length of this card from bracket mount to the very edge?

i tried to measure this but it was a little hard since i had installed it allready, and it didn't say in the manuals, but I would say that it is just under a foot in length.  It almost didn't fit in my CM Storm case( a mid size case).

What average fps would you get in Battlefield 4?

There is no way to give a specific answer to that as the answer is dependent on many factors such as CPU, RAM, background software, resolution and detail level. I can tell you that unless you have a very weak CPU you should have a good gaming experience at 1080 resolutions.

Card is 11 in long and 1 1/2 in thick, I stuck this into an old mac quicksilver case I modified was tight but that case has very little room.
