I want to buy this, but I'm worried about the 4.4 inch height, as that'll come really close to my processor fan, any suggestions?

This video card fits perfectly in a Dell 960T and it is right next to the fan shroud.  EVGA is very responsive, so send them and email and they can tell you the exact dimensions.  They may even provide the outline drawing with dimensions.

Hey Gene Directx is just a 3d driver package that is made by microsoft. It is a free download. This card supports directx 11 and the latest when windows 10 comes out all directx versions are backward compatible. With most Adobe products when they say the recommend the geforce cards. They are referring to the Cuda cores on the cards which are optimized for better software performance. This card has 387 cud cores some have 2048... Check out the GTX750 or GTX750TI these are closely priced and better performing. the GTX750ti has 640 cuda cores just as an example,

Hello Nick.  Short answer, No, it will not.

Most All-in-One's contain laptop/mobile based hardware.  Any expansion slots that are included on these Motherboards will not be compaitible with the desktop designed expansion cards, such as this video card.  Some SSD's and similar sized items will work, but that is about it.

If you are looking to upgrade the video performance of your machine, I am sad to say you don't much of any options out there.  The GPU is more than likely embeded into the motherboard for your machine.

The simple answer is to look at a different machine alltogether.  There are some descent deals on prebuilt Desktops, but you can generally do better building your own.  Think of it as an electronic Lego Set.  Not as difficult as one would think.  There are tons of resources (videos, HowTo articles, etc.) on how to do this.  Take your time and do some research.  Search Engines are your friend!

Would this card work in a Dell Optiplex 760 sff?

If the PCI slot is compatible and you have enough power in your psu, 400w should work, I think you might enjoy this card. It has done very well for me in my set up. I built an upgraded system and used a GTX 960 ... wow... very nice, I am very happy with every Nvidia card I have used and my 960  AND power supply are both EVGA ... good products.

I'm upgrading the video out in a Dell 760 running Win XP. Will this board work in that machine running XP? If not, could you recommend any other cards with at least 2G of on-board memory and at least one DVI output?

it really depends on this;

1)  what are you going to do with this box? are you running games-stream movies? or office-internet?

this is a work station card. or in other words not games-stream movies.

2) can we say, your box is very old. does you motherboard even have a PCI-e x16 slot?

Well to be honest, you'll get a mid range 60-80 fps on ultra settings. I'd rather you spend another 100$ if that's in your budget and buy this product:

This has a the same memory but, it does have a lot more cuda cores and double the memory bandwidth, this will allow you to play league of legends, World of Warcraft, and minecraft (depending on how much installed system ram you have installed on your computer *8gb is a good amount*) with ease.

Would this work in a Dell XPS 8300?

First, you would need to know what kind of slot you have. The card is a 3.0. Then you have to look at the power supply to make sure it has enough power. I believe this one requires 400 watts. All our DELLS at work run NVIDIA cards but these are for office. The gt 740 will certain games. The "G FORCE experience" download will tell you what games it will play and if any of yours will. I cannot run Bejeweled 2 full screen because of no graphic accelerator. I thought 4 GB on the card would wow me. Not. I just ordered a xfx 2GB crossfire card but they are backordered. I'll wait. Wish I still had my old xfx 4650. Just installed a new m/b. 500GB ssd, 16 GB ram. Sometimes you have to go old school. Hope this helps

For triple monitor setup for gaming, I'd recommend buying a GTX970 or another card with a lot of memory I'd say atleast 4gb but it needs to be a better card than this 740

I just got mine in the mail, this week. The box doesn't list crossfire or SLI as a feature. so I would lean toward no. If its in your budget you could look at the Gigabyte Radeon R9 270x, it comes with a crossfire cable so you can link two cards.

I have a HP xw9400 Workstation.  Will this card be good to be able to upgrade to Win10?

Many driver updates not working, I have a Quadro FX 3500

I can't really answer your question, because I haven't and won't be upgrading to Windows 10, but just wanted to say you are wise to ask.  After Windows 10 became available I read a number of complaints about the lack of drivers for this card.  One fellow had gone through several cycles of upgrading to W10, then regressing to W7 because the drivers didn't work.   
This is probably old news and I don't know the current status, but be sure before upgrading.
