Will this card work with PCI Express 2.0 or 2.1?

Yes, PCI Express 2.0/2.1 is referring to the version of PCI required.  the x16 part is referring to the number of PCI Express lanes for data to transmit on.

Think of PCI Express 1.0 as a highway and PCI Express 2.0 as an interstate.  Traffic flows better on an interstate.  Think of the x16 as lanes on the highway/interstate.  The more lanes the more traffic (data) can flow.

Review your motherboard specifications to ensure you have a PCI Express 2.0/2.1 slot.

There seems to be a bottle neck with my computer.  I got this card and it seems slow.  What would be the best options for a motherboard than can use this card to its best abilities?

Not sure if you're trying to win an award for most vague question, but I'll try to help. Have you installed the correct drivers and Geforce utility? Do you have the required PSU wattage specs? I purchased the ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1 mobo and this card works fantastically. My experience in I.T. has also shown that, while brand new items can work (making it seems like a functional product), there can still be an issue with it, i.e. it will work but not to it's full potential. So you could have a bunk product and may need to return/exchange. Maybe you should contact EVGA support to run diagnostics. Also, I'd make sure to have a good CPU. I have the i7-4790k, which matches the ASUS mobo socket and and is top of the line.

You also never mentioned what you are using this card for...gaming? CAD? graphic design? Video editing?

I use mine for gaming, and that is the only area where I would notice performance issues. If you are using it for the same, try loading a next-gen game (eg Watch Dogs, Middle Earth) and gauge the framerate. If it seems low, return it for a replacement or different card. If the framerate is fine...it may be possible that your PC needs something ELSE upgraded. (RAM, CPU, or as you asked...the motherboard).

Hi Everyone,

I have another lines of questions that relate to PCI Express 2.0, 2.1, 2.0x16 or 2.1x16 which I didn't want to include to my previous post.

1. If I buy this card and use it on PCI Express 2.0, 2.1, 2.0x16 or 2.1x16, will this impact 4K movies streaming via HDMI to a 4K UHD TV?

2. Will EVGA 980 do the same job streaming 4K movies to a 4K UHD TV?

I just trying to understand if I really need Titan Black or 980 do the same good job as well.

Well the only way to get 4k on your tv is if you use the dvi or display port on your card. An HDMI just simply can't do it. the issue with that is that you won't get any sound by using those. The best you can get out of HDMI is 1080p plus sound. So you just have to pick and choose what is more important to you. Sadly i learned this while I was trying to set this up with my own 4K tv. Just thought you might like to know.   But as far as which is better i'd prolly choose the 980 since it is cheaper and uses less power.

Question 4

Would this card be bottle-necked by a Core2Quad Q9700?  I'm still running a system on the EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard (CoolerMaster 1200w PSU).  I'm looking to upgrade my Evga GTX560Ti 440core Ultra Classifieds (x2), but logically, if it's overkill for the my dated (but great!) system....

I think you might run into some bottle necking issues with this card. I upgraded everything and went from a Core2Duo system to a Intel i7Hhaswell 5930k and this beast of a card runs whatever I throw at it. You won't regret getting the card but you will likely regret putting in an old system. I do mostly flight simming with Falcon BMS, DCS, and FSX. 
I would seriously look at upgrading the whole system if you are looking at dropping the $ on such an expensive card or you'll end up spending more in the long run as you upgrade piecemeal to catch up with your high-end GPU. I am a proponent of the "go big or go home" school of thought where I build my system to last me the next 5 years like my last one did.

Is this compatible with the MacPro Early 2009, Model Identifier:MacPro4,1?
