Does it have 8 pin. and a 6 pin. 12v power connectors? It is for my GPU.

I have not hooked it up yet, however, the power supply has six 8 pin VGA Connectors.  The power supply kit includes six VGA cables. Three cables have 8 pin connectors on each end.  The other three have 8 pin connectors on one end, however, the other ends are broken into 6 pin and two pins.  Therefore, you can plug a cable with 8 pin connector into the connection on the power supply and into the connection on the VGA card.  For the six pin connector on the VGA card you can plug one of the other cables 8 pin connector into the power supply and then just plug the six pin connector on the other end into the six pin connection on the VGA card.  The two pin connector is not used in this configuration.  Kind of a verbose explanation, hope it helps.

Does this come with any red cables or is that from an older model?

I believe it had two sets of red, i didnt use them though.  If i remember correctly all the rest were black pairs.  They might have been the for the peripheral pwr components.

Question 3

Hello, I am building my first PC and I instilled this battery. After plugin it in and hitting the switch on the back nothing happen. After that I tried hitting the power button on my case (yes it was plugged into motherboard) and still nothing.

Did I just get a defective unit or am I missing something?

I would double check the plug connection. Not just on the motherboard but also the power supply. Don't be afraid to use force on both ends of the plugs. If it still doesn't work, next thing to try would be the power cable going into the power supply. Replace it if possible with another that you know works.

If step 2 fails then yes, it's likely defective and needs to be RMA'd.

Just  checking this should have enough power to juice two 980s and a overclocked  5820k or 5930k ?

A website like pcpartpicker can help you manage your power budget. Add all the parts you want, and it will tell you if the supply works is large enough. I think the supply it would be fine with the parts you asked about, but to know for sure, I would have to know all your parts and look up the max power (watts) they all need. Use the website and it will figure it out for you.

I'm considering getting this power supply, but I'm curious if it has any four pin molex connectors? I ask because my fan controller requires a four pin molex connector to receive power.

I had to look in the box of cables I hadn't used, and there is a 4 pin molex splitter for fan connections.

Will this adequately power an r9 295x2 graphics card?

Yes, a 1000W power supply will be adequate for that card. A good way to check power requirements if you are unsure is to go to a site like 'pcpartpicker' and add all of your components. I see a 500W draw from this card - which will be the biggest power user in your system. Good luck!

I'm going to build a computer and had this PSU in mind. However, I'm using 2 GTX 770 4GB OC Windforce graphics cards. Would I need a PSU with a higher wattage, or is this one okay?

I think it depends on what you are going to use the system for and how many hours you are going to use it at a time.  I have two EVGA GTX 760 4GB video cards and the limited time I have used the system there does not appear to be any problem.  I may add a third video card later and I do not think I will have a problem.  However, I only use the system for flight simulation a few hours a day.  If you are going to use it with multiple monitors and intensive grahics processing 8 to 10 hours a day you may want to get more powerful supply.  These are only my observations without doing any kind of bench marking.  Hope this helps.

Yes, Unit has 6 separate VGA ports . The VGA ports on the PSU are 8 pin each. The cables they supply are 8 pin on the PSU side and 6+2 pin on the card side.

Im trying to get this power supply to match my color scheme, but I am wondering if all the cables are black, or are the vga 8-pin cables red?

Hey there Mark, Purchased a EVGA Supernova 1000 G1 about 4 months ago.....Awesome power supply, no hiccups or fails. The power cables are all black and flat though, no fancy red to work with.

yes, It has 2 8-pin CPU connectors. I have an ASUS motherboard with an AMD3+ socket FX-6350 six core CPU. There are sites with power supply calculators you might find helpful.
