i took a shoe string and held it on the end from the rad to the cpu and then measured it with a ruler and it was 30cm

Yes, it does. the grey you see on the copper block is a thin layer, (like construction paper thin) of paste. A plastic cover is protecting the paste when it's shipped. I've no idea what kind it is, and I'm still saving up for other parts for my build so I wont have installed this for some time yet.

With many of our products you can click on the "Warranty & Returns" tab and you will find the Manufacturer's contact info, including the manufacturer's website.
