Question 1

plug the 9260 into this, the bios doesn't show anything plugged in.  am i missing something?  it's a working pcie slot, using a 2.4 g hz adapter right now.

had tried a similar adapter fro amz but sent back because of the same reason.  motherboard explorer on bios shows nothing plugged in when it is, neither kubuntu nor windows detects anything.  If i put a known working pcie card in there, it shows right up. someone posted somewhere about changing asetting in the bios for the pcie from auto to gen1 or gen 2,.  I done think I can use the mobo slot as it is an m-type and the wifi card I don't think will work with that, at least the intel 9260.

will this adapter card also work with CNVio type M.2 Wifi/BT modules? example: Intel 9560? CNVio is an intel proprietary M.2 standard that connects to the communications part added into Gen 8 and above CPUs instead of the standard M.2 which is PCIe(wifi)+USB(BT). thanks for any answers

I have not tried this myself, but, I do not believe so, and I can't recommend trying. According to Intel's specs, the WiFi Card, MotherBoard, Chipset, and CPU all need to agree and be CVNi compatible. If your Mobo does not already have an M.2 CNVi compatible slot built-in my guess is that either the chipset or or wiring on the board itself is not compatible. My guess at a best-case scenario here? the card works, but, only as a standard WiFi module, lacking any CVNi features. Worst-case? it won't work at all.
