Does this product include a year of Fortiguard? I'm looking for content filtering and need to know if it's included in the base price or if I have to add a Fortiguard contract it it.

you have to pay for the virus/malware scanning. can purchase monthly or annually service plans. you can block by words or websites without service. have not gotten too deep. the manual is called cookbook and is 300+ pages. everything is laid out with pics and step by step. awesome product for price.

Does this unit require a support contract for updates, etc?

You have to have a Fortinet account which is free and you can download any new firmware w/ or w/out a support contract.  You can also get Gateway security, etc. w/out support.

That being said, Fortinet support is AWESOME!!!!!

We were a SonicWall shop and recently switched to Fortinet for all of our customers.  My first Fortinet install was a 100D and I called support and told them we had just switched from SonicWall and I had some questions.  They remoted into my machine and walked through the entire configuration with me (over 2 hours) to make sure I knew how the Fortinet worked differently from the SonicWall.  Every time I have called them for support they remote in and show me how to configure it.  Super Awesome!

Yes sir, and it works absolutely wonderful. By default it comes activated and the address range from 100-199, so you can customize it however you need
