Yes, it runs Windows just fine.  We added a 128GB SSD and 8GB of RAM and it runs very well in an office environment.

I've bought it a while back, so who knows if this brick will be the same, however Input is 100-204v AC @ 1.7 Amps, output is 19 VDC 3.42A/65W Center Positive.   AC adaptor that I got is from Hipro Model HP-A0652R3B

It has a fan.  It's loud as well.  From what I understand,  a bios update fixes it.  I've been unable to download it because the Foxconn download site appears to be offline

The description says it has a SATA 3.0Gb/s port, which I assume is for the hard drive. Does the case physically fit a desktop-size hard drive or do I need to get a little laptop drive?

you will need a 2.5" hard drive or an msata hard drive I used the 2.5" laptop drive I had setting around.
