Question 1

My TV IR receiver is broken.  The TV does not have a IR input, but it does have a USB port.  Will this product work for my TV?

Thanks for the responses.  I assume then, that none of the PC USB IR receivers would work for me in this situation.  Does anyone know of a solution to my problem? I've already tried using universal remotes so I know it's the IR receiver. I cant quite justify spending the money to repair the IR receiver when I feel like there should be another way.

how do you configure the rest of the buttons? where is the software?

I was wondering the same thing. I think this item only works in Windows Media Center with the recording feature. The Windows button in the middle launches media center so I assume that is what the rest are for. What I am wondering is how it works to turn off the monitor and PC? I also would like to find some software to make this thing work. The only thing I use it for now is the volume on the PC.

I've plugged this into my Foxcon AT-5250 PC, and the receiver shows up with drivers in the Windows 7 (32-bit) device manager.  The red button on the receiver lights up when I press buttons on the remote.  But nothing happens inside any apps when I press buttons on the remote.

Is there something special I need to do to get this to work with Windows Media Center?

Nope when you plug in driver should be already on computer for usb receiver and it should work, just make sure in device manager the driver is installed properly and everything should be good.
