Does it have a secure (locked) connection?

According to the website you can secure the connection with your own password. I have not been able to change the default password though. Every time I try to input my own password in the edit field and hit enter the default pops back up. Customer service is VERY hard to get in touch with. Sprint is in talks to buy Freedompop, so it will probably get worse.

Has anyone used 4G in the northern suburb of Chicago? How good is the signal strength?

I am not using this in Chicago, I'm in Columbus, OH. That said I'm sure Chicago has a good Sprint network (check sprint coverage maps), and I've had nothing but great service from freedom pop and also have a cell phone through them. My signal strength has been great throughout Ohio.
