Is this scanner compatible with Windows 10?

Accepted Answer

Yes. However, make sure to install the scanner using admin account for the local machine you are connecting it to. I ran into the same issue trying to install on 2 different Win10 Pro PC's within a domain using the domain admin rights. Scanner would not consistently stay connected & often required power cycling, disconnecting scanner and/or rebooting PC. Learned my lesson after the second one. Also, be sure to download the latest installation software from Fujitsu's website rather than using the install CD that comes in the box.

These are really good scanners. We have several and have had no issues outside of the aforementioned caveat.

My sister in law is using this with her MacBook pro without problems.  I have used it to scan full books (with permission) and have had NO problems.

Question 3

I have borrowed & used a ScanSnap S1500 and would like to purchase my own.  I find that the S1500 is no longer available from Fujitsu.  Will this model S1300i be a good substitute, doing volume scanning, and does it come with software?

Not for volume scanning, I would not recommend. It seems about as fast in scanning but kind of 'delicate' when loading up more than 4-5 pages at a time... and then once they're scanned it inelegantly just dumps the files on the floor at your feet as it has no paper catcher.

Also seems to not pull documents through as reliably as the desktop models do. But if you want portability... THAT it rocks at. Well thought out for that task.

Is this compatible with windows8? How does this compare with canon neet

The scan snap will have no issue with Windows 8. I have both a windows desktop, and a Mac. I have set the scan snap permanently with my Mac as it is such a better computer, and can run windows on the machine as we'll. I have not used the Canon Neet, but recommend you look at the spport programs from Canon, as the programs that come with the Fijutsu are excellent.

will the s 1300 i scan photos?

YES it will but I have used only the .PDF file type, it does a very good scan but I save them
I saved them so the ScanSnap software can put them in a album you make.
I haven't tried to save with the other file extensions it has,

It is compatible with Windows 7 and software comes with it. Power cable is included. I don't remember if a USB cable was included. Warranty is by the manufacturer, Fujitsu. Newegg is a distributor. Check on the web for Newegg return policies. I hjae the unit and am very pleased with it. I use it with Neat.
