Pros: It cools very well. Didn't have any issues of ram overheating or causing crashes, but they would get very warm to the touch. Its dead s3xy
Cons: A couple things here. 1) This thing is big. If you have a decent size heatsink (I have a sunbeam core contact freezer) odds are you wont be able to cool all your ram sticks. On top of this my mobo is small, dfi p35 BI. Because of this, the fan only cools slots 3 & 4 for the dimms. 2) Its somewhat loud. If you have fans that are 30 dba +, then dont worry about it. However, mine are all ~25, and i can hear the whine of this fan over them slightly. 3) Blue LEDs. I guess you either love them or you hate them .BUT I HATE THEM G.SKILL. Couldn't you offer the same memory cooler in both a LED and non-LED version.
Overall Review: I know it seems like a lot of cons, but they are little things. Idk about you, but id rather hear the grit about products rather than have people raving about them in reviews only to find out the cons after i buy it. What it comes down to is it was only $15 shipped, for that price I can tolerate those small cons.
Pros: This thing adds some extra airflow over RAM. Active cooling normally isn't necessary for ram, but it really helps when you've got 6 sticks packed in close together or are running ECC/buffered RAM.
Cons: None.
Overall Review: Keep in mind that this is a 60mm fan - It is designed for boards with 6 RAM sockets. If you've got a board with only 4 sockets and are worried about it getting in the way of your CPU cooler then look for coolers with 40mm fans instead.
Pros: Item ordered on Sunday arrived on Wed, good job NewEgg on delivery. As to its functionality unit it works w my Intel D5400XS w 4 x 8GB of Crucial Ram : Original con-fig the ram was very hot to touch in 15 min w/o any air flow now it's only warm to touch after 15 min - yes you can touch the memory heat-shield - not advisable unless you know what your doing as these heatshields get very hot and can burn you skin leaving a piece of you w the ram DIMM. _"I luve the smell of Napam in the Morning " Tote...
Cons: This unit could be a problem w certain MB's due to the fact that it has a large single fan and a fan nacelle which is at the widest part in the center of the unit which could be a problem w heatsinks - or sub-assemblies and memory slots located around your ram - think in 3 dimensions when you measure you area - check the specs and like the good carpenter rule ... measure twice buy once... - the 3 prong pig tale to MB could be a problem as its short in length relative to other units like the CORSAIR CMXAF2 Fan which has a longer length pig-tale Fan noise - not as quite as it could be but better that fried DIMMS - over time - from not using any cooling whatsoever. This unit could slide down the sides of the DIMM sockets sides which will reduce it efficiency to move air - this proplem is apparent in all models that I have seen. Other wise its working as desired - memory is cooler - plastic housing - and NewEGG is great Tote...
Overall Review: A plus the unit has a plastic housing which is not conductive to traces on the back side of the Video card - also of note the plastic arms have enough pressure to hold it on the ram slot extraction levers when the motherboard is vertical - Also this unit maybe better on a motherboard that has more than 4 ram slots: Experience suggest that a 40 mm fan would fit better on this Intel MB - its a good compromise as I have two XIGMATEK HDT-S1284EE 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler's on two XEON 5440 cpus and having the fans on the cpu cooler blow up to have air flow for out the top of the CoolMaster Cosmos case - which also has fans pulling air up and out - can create a very tight fit for this unit depending upon how you position other components next to this Fan. Oh yeah - offer different color LEDS blue - so 90's White would be nice - to provide some light inside the case when its running: If you have side fan on the side of your case this may not needed if the air from the fan hits the ram. Pros: its very quiet for running at that speed can't even hear it over other fans in my case. install was super easy, nice snug fit to the memory clips. looks pretty cool installed too the blue led's are a nice touch.
Cons: none
Overall Review: it is a bit wide so make sure you have room. i have an x58 p6t deluxe mobo, stock i7 920 cooler six slots for ram 6g installed up to 12g supported. the reason i am stating this i had to cheat this fan one clip off center for clearance of cpu fan. it does not over hang the clips, its flush with the last row. five memory slots wide at base so anyone with only four slots or a big after market cpu cooler just be aware of this.
Pros: It fit my setup and keeps the RAM cooler.
Cons: NONE
Overall Review: It fit in my case with a ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard and a Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition with a stock cooler.
Pros: Fits perfect on my Crosshair III. Not hard to install and it has a secure fit. LED's match my fans and cathodes. Free shipping....
Cons: None..
Overall Review: Currently cools my 2x 2GB Mushkin 1600Mhz at 1.9v and they do not exceed 28c. This fan works and for the price it is a steal....
Pros: Snaps onto thumb levers easily and stays put. Fan is completely silent yet puts out a pretty good breeze. Blue LEDs are always cool - at least when they are inside the case.
Cons: Stands up quite high, so make sure you have clearance. On my AM3 mobo (Asus Crosshair III) the RAM slots are right next to the CPU, and since I have a huge cooler on my CPU (Xigmatek s1283), this RAM cooler has to be slid over quite a bit. Only 2 of the 4 RAM levers are being clipped on to, so this thing is barely hanging on. Not a design flaw, just a bad mobo layout.
Overall Review: Great value, just like all of G.Skill's products
Pros: + Great design + Nice and quiet + Very easy to install and remove in case of ram changes
Cons: Blue led? I don't really care for colored fans and my Haf 922 has a red up front but who cares.
Overall Review: Water buffalo's?
