Hi, I'm build a new PC with Intel i7-6700k Skylake and MSI Z170A Gaming M7. These RAMs are compatible with the motherboard?

Question 2

I received the kit in the form of two plastic covers held together by two rubber bands. Does everybody receive the memory modules in this way, or did Newegg send me an open-box or refurbished product?

Mine was in standard plastic packaging with 2 little squares at the top of the package that you popped open.  Inside was the product cardboard with the info about the chips and sticker.  No rubber bands, however, the package wasn't hard to open either.

Question 3

bought this item with the new 6th generation skylake i5 and Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO.  Problem is i am only getting the ram to run at 2132Mhz. Isnt is suppose to run at 3000mhz ? Anyone know how to fix this?

Try enabling XMP 2 in the BIOS.  You can also set the speed and timings manually in the BIOS if XMP doesn't work out.  The default memory speed for Skylake is 2133MHz, so it makes sense that it would start with that if XMP is disabled (which it likely is by default).

is it compatible with  chipset x99?

I actually put this set in my X99 build to test if it was good and it worked just fine.  It is only dual channel though as opposed to quad that the X99 supports

Is this compatible with the MSI Gaming Pro Carbon AC? CPU is Ryzen 5 2600.

It will work, but you might not be able to run it at rated speeds because this kit has an odd-numbered CAS (15). Ryzen plays best with even timed sticks (14 or 16 would be better).

Furthermore, I was unable to get this kit to run at 3000 (2933 in Ryzen-world). Had to run at 2666 or 2800.

I'm going for a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 motherboard. Has anyone had any success with this running at 3000 with the latency advertised (CAS 15)?

I have these sticks installed in an MSI Z170-a pro motherboard with an i5-6600k CPU.  When I put the build together and ran the CPU at stock speeds, all I had to do to get these to run at XMP 3000 CAS 15 was hit the XMP button in the bios.  When I overclocked the CPU to 4.5 GHz, these sticks would not run at XMP 3000 CAS 15 (BSOD).  The solution (at least in my case) was to bump up VCCSA and VCCIO voltages to 1.2 volts.  I have since had no problems with these RAM sticks running at XMP 3000 CAS 15.

Should be fine no problem, not sure what speed is the Ram in the combo but I'd recommend the same speed ram for optimal stability, that mobo can handle a lot larger memory sticks.

How many mm tall is this? Compatible with a BeQuiet Dark Pro 3?
