According to the HP Pavilion TouchSmart 23-f213w All-in-One Desktop PC Product Specifications, you can indeed simply add an 8GB module, so long as it the memory follows these requirements:

The module is DDR3 SO-DIMMs: PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600), PC3-14900 (DDR3-1866)
    The memory does not exceed 16GB of RAM on 64-bit systems (which your computer is installed with).

But I don't have an HP computer so I'm not 100% sure. Hope it's helpful.

I have a desktop computer with a Asus P8Z77-V motherboard. It currently has 16GB of RAM installed and I would like to expand to 32Gb. Will these work? If not, can you recommend another? Finally, what do I need to do to install other than inserting them into proper slots on motherboard? Thanks.

yes you can install 32 GB of ram on that board. You will need windows 7 or 8 professional for your computer to utilize that much memory. Home versions won't take advantage of the extra. I have 32 GB of this same memory in my system and it works great. I can have lots open with no slow down at all.

Will these fit my GIGABYTE GA-Z87M-D3H 1.0 LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard even though it has 4 RAM slots?! I really need to know fast.

I don't know about the compatibility of this ram to your particular hard drive, but I know you don't have to use all four slots. 
I bought this and I have four slots an it works fine. You should consult the instruction in your motherboard to figure out the placement when only using two ram stick. My mother board need them to be install in slot 1 and slot 3.

These "should" work in any computer that takes DDR3 ram. I can't say for sure that your computer will support "full" size ram or that it can support 8 GB sticks. You need to check your manufacturer for info.

According to your computers specs it looks like you should be fine with this memory. I don't however know for sure since I have never tried it with that particular build. You should take a look at the specs & manual and find out for yourself, if it doesn't work you could always return it.

Im planing on getting a 2x8 (16gb) of G-Skill DDR3 1600MHz... Is it worth getting a higher MHz for the higher price? -Im gonna run games on high settings and i will probably Edit quite a lot with Sony Vegas 12.. Is a higher MHz worth it??

Very trickey answer.  Higher MHz (than the base 1333MHz) has been shown to actually result in improved performance.  However I would do research to determine how much of an improvement.

If the improvement is like only 3 o 5% but the price increase is like 12% then I'm not sure I'd bother.  I opted for 1600MHz as that's the best sweet spot for my purposes.

I have the MSI Xpower motherboard and I was wondering if this RAM is compatible with the Z87 Chipset or Intel's 4th Gen Processors?
The reason why I ask is because the package does not say it is in the picture, but i know there are sometimes exceptions.

Yes, it is compatible with both.  My build is using ASROCK Z87 Extreme6 with an i7 Haswell and I haven't had any issues running windows 8.

a quick search for pavilion 500-281 showed that it has DDR3 for desktop
so I would say yes. 16GB would be the max on the mobo.
but it won't hurt to open ur comp and double check if ur current ram is DDR3
