Question 1

Are they compatible with an Aorus Master? I didn't see any Gigabyte motherboards specified as compatible in G.skill's QVL.

This memory should work fine in the Aorus Master X570 motherboard. (I have an ASUS, but the Aorus Master has a solid reputation.)

When you install the memory, the motherboard will default to the safest compatibility settings, which will be around 2666 MHz. You will need to go into the BIOS set up utility to read the speed settings off the memory, which is a simple process. Getting 4 random modules to work together is problematic, which is why you should buy a matched set like this.

Question 2

I grabbed this for my personal high powered PC I am building piece by piece, I did not realize it but the box it arrived in said "Optimized for AMD(...)" and I was wondering if anyone knew if it worked to its full potential on my i9 9900k with the MSI MEG Z390 ACE ATX LGA1151 Motherboard and an RTX 2080ti.  I suppose I will find out when I put it together on the 21st or 22nd of this month.  If it does not work or does not work to its full potential, would I be able to exchange it for a more Intel optimized set?  (It arrived at my house on the 18th).

Ram top speed is dictated only by the motherboards ability to read the xmp profile of the ram, and from there use whatever is already in the bios to configure from there. While the xmp profile is easy to read for every compatible motherboard,  the secret sauce is what extra the motherboard maker put into the bios to further tweak it. I recommend going to the motherboard makers website to look up "compatible" ram sticks. There is no amd specific or intel specific ram. It is marketing.  Even if the board page doesn't list that ram, check the bios screen to see what xmp profile is loaded and what timings are there. Chances are very high this works without tweaking.  Almost all ram is made by only three manufacturers (name brands get it from only three places).

do they work on x470 boards?

If you have a high quality X470 MB with a 3000 series CPU that has a good memory trace layout and it is on the QVL it should work fine... If you have a 2000 series CPU, the memory controller may not be good enough to drive all four sticks at the rated speed...

Question 4

My newly built system (ASUS TUF Gaming x570 motherboard and Ryzen 3900x processor) will not boot with this memory. When I power the system up, the onboard LED's never get past the first yellow light (DRAM) and that LED stays on steady. I have tried to start the system with all four of these DIMMs installed and with only two DIMMs installed and with only one DIMM installed. I would really appreciate it if anyone could provide me any hints/tips on how best to proceed?

I was just looking at purchasing this ram.  But when I looked at the ram compatibility chart on the msi website.  These dimms are not on the supported list for any of their motherboards.  Some people are saying they work and frankly I don't see why the wouldn't.  The only suggestion I can offer is to update the bios and see if it works.  If it does please let me know!  I would love to pick up this kit if all it takes to make them work is a bios update.  Good luck man!

Is the DDR4 actually black and white or Black and a Brushed silver?

It's a brushed silver. I love these, been giving me nice stable OC and looks amazing in my case. Also works with the Asus color sync.

Will this work with a B550 ASUS TUF Gaming Plus? Most of the questions here are about the X570 boards.

I can't post links here but according to the QVL on the G.Skill site for F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC the ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS is listed.  If you google F4-3600C16Q-64GTZNC the G.Skill site should be the first result.  Click QVL then Asus then AMD B550.   It is also listed on the QVL list on the Asus site.  Google ASUS TUF GAMING B550-PLUS click support cpu memory support memory fill out the dropdowns for G.Skill 4x16gb 3600.  It should be the first result.   F4-3600C16Q on top line 64GTZNC on next line.  Hopefully this helps!

Has anyone used with Ryzen ThreadRipper 3 (3960X)? Plan to use with ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme, but of course not on the supported list. Wanted 3600 speed.

I have 2 of these kits in the TRX40 Gigabyte extreme board. They didnt work with the XMP profile to full spec. I had to manually downclock them to 3200 CL16 16-17-17-17-35-58 ran stable for months but lately my computer has been crashing and becoming unstable. I suspect rising heat may be a factor as its getting warmer out. I have decided to start running my AC when the computer is under load to see if that helps stability. My system always seems at the brink of stability with this RAM lately.

I could never get this RAM to post consistently before at the advertised speed but since gigabyte released a new BIOS I did just try the new BIOS out and now I do get some stability using the XMP profile, however still getting some crashes under load at times. Since these sets aren't really advertised for 8 DIMMs at this speed if you wanted to populate all your DIMMs at this speed I'd recommend getting faster RAM and downclocking to this speed. It would likely be more stable. This RAM is a good value though when its working for me and it was very stable at 3200 all through the winter so...hoping keeping the PC in AC will keep it stable again.

The RAM does fail memtest 86 but passes other diagnostics. I notice many report failures on memtest 86 test 7 with AMD. I may end up RMA my RAM if the frequent crashes continue.  I also doubt its the mobo as I have already RMA'd my board once.

will it work on the x370 boards with a 1700x cpu.   Vendor ram caculator says yes Qvl  says no?

Not at the rate of speed because the maximum read it to be right next to 70 motherboards are 3200 I believe but it will work but you have to adjust the XMPEnter an answer to this question.

Question 9

What does Typhoon burner report about these dimms? Any idea what IC is included?

TB tells me it is SK Hynix M-Die.  I think we are past the point where it matters however unless you want to go over rated specs.  These chips appear to not have any issues with rated speeds I'm even running 3400 quad channel on an non QVL setup.
