No it's not low profile.  I can get you exact measurements but I figured an immediate answer was more important.

It's 100% compatible with my EVGA Micro X99, so it absolutely should be compatible.

Will these work with the new Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151?

I checked the Asus site and it looks like they will work for the Z170-A. Mine are plugged in to the Asus X99 Deluxe. They are plain looking but I assure you that it's good memory.
