Are integrated GPU's any good for gaming? What kind of performance can you expect from them?

I think the best iGPU’s are the Ryzen 7 8700G right? Kind of curious if anyone games on an iGPU

i’d say they’re unreliable. expect to play games from like 15 years ago.

Swagatron is correct, it’s really for general use or possibly casual gaming. It’s also nice to have in case your GPU breaks down and you can diagnose it with the onboard graphics. The companies are working in that direction though. I think in 10 years or maybe less you won’t have a GPU, gonna be all in one.

I saw this one YouTube Short where a guy was hyping up iGPUs like they’re the future of gaming or something. Honestly, it felt like borderline propaganda. Integrated graphics are fine if you’re playing Minecraft or some low-demand game, but let’s not pretend they’re replacing dedicated GPUs anytime soon. I honestly found the performance to be underwhelming

yeah, the 8700g is equal to a GTX1650 which is a big leap from where they used to be. Integrated graphics before this were just enough to run windows and surf the web.
