does it hurt when you sit for long periods at a time?

Thinking about a gaming chair the the prices on these are ridiculous. T_T

It depends on your body type and many ergonomic factors for your setup. You’ll want to cover the foundation basics from height of chair/desk/monitor to proper elbow and hand positioning. And if it hurts for about 3-5 days, that’s normal. You need your body to build the muscles to support your new position

I used to think that it was my body. My back used to kill me after sitting in my chair for hours as I did homework. After getting a new chair with proper support, I realized the cheap gaming chairs from Sam’s Club just are not meant for adults over 100 pounds.

Evolutionarily… humans are mobile animals, we did not evolve to sit for long periods of time. https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.1911868117 Here is a scientific article talking about how humans are not supposed to be sedentary.

If it hurts to sit for long periods of time, that makes sense, but get a better chair, gaming chairs are scammish in my opinion, a nice office chair with swivel and nice lumbar support is what you need.
