i have a 2080 super and the vram just isn’t cutting it anymore (8gb), does anyone have any recommendations or old cards they’d be willing to sell?
unfortunately the used market is ridiculous unless you know someone to give you a deal. your most economical option now is at 9060xt 16gb for $379. For just a reference I recently sold a 6800XT 16gb (it’s two generations old now) for $325 and mine was the lowest priced on Jawa. This is about as low as you’re gonna get for more than eight gigs which you have found out on your own is no longer enough, unfortunately.
If you go looking on online auction sites like eBay or Mercari be careful there’s a lot of scamers praying on desperate gamers. Search places like Jawa or Newegg for used/refurbished models. At least you have some thing to fall back on with companies like that. if I happen to come across a good deal though, on one of the sites I’ll message you.
I recommend Newegg’s open box / refurbished / new section you can get a 9060 xt or a 9070 xt like @viraco said.
It is also possible to lower settings in the game in the meantime as to not use so much vram.
A GPU is pretty pricy as computer components go. It’ll be the most expensive part of the computer. So if you’re looking for a price that on an expensive computer part, you won’t get too far. What @Viraco and @elaniselan said would be your best bet. I would check if you have a warranty from wherever you decide to get your GPU. If it offers a warranty, I would strongly consider it. But a RTX 2080 should still offer strong performance for many games. I’d turn the FPS counter off and see if you enjoy the game.
Bro is this real? Go in your local offerup or facebook listing find 3080s or 7800xt even 7900gre for 300-400 easily negotiate them down. I do this just for kicks
