When it comes to usual manufacturer warranty, you would only get warranty coverage for the PSU itself. MSI had announced on 5/30 “if any of the PC parts are found to be affected due to MSI’s PSUs, MSI has five different plans for compensating the users.”
Those 5 plans are
- MSI component replacement with the same one
- PC hardware replacement with the same one (if component exists on the market)
- 100% compensation if the PSU is within the first year of warranty
- 90% compensation if the purchase was conducted between the 2nd and 3rd year
- 75% compensation from the 4th year up to the warranty period.
Plan is only available to China participants.
Do you think that other manufacturers should adopt these policies?
- yes
