Microsoft has officially begun phasing out support for Windows 10, and it’s creating ripple effects across the gaming community. Once the most widely used operating system for PC gaming, Windows 10 is now approaching its end-of-life cycle, with security updates and official support set to wind down. While Microsoft is pushing players to upgrade to Windows 11, not everyone has made the switch—and that’s where problems are beginning to show.

Capcom says it will no longer guarantee these games will run correctly on Windows 10. That means if new game updates or system changes cause issues on Win10, Capcom may choose not to troubleshoot or patch those issues for Win10 users. Square Enix has warned that Final Fantasy XIV will stop officially supporting Windows 10 after Microsoft ends support for the OS (October 14, 2025). They note that the game may still run on Win10 after that date, but technical support for Win10 issues will be limited or non-guaranteed.
